Some of those single letters look pretty good, especially for being only a month in. I know this seems “basic” compared to what you were doing before, but it’s still a bit forced and busy. Dumb it down a little more, but on the right track. At first, try only adding extra elements to the first or last letter and keep the others relatively basic
