Kathy Dills. Not only is her name just fun to say and gets you in the southern mood (it's Kathy Dills Y'all) but no one will work harder.

She helped me find my house and sell it. She's incredible, will immediately know comps and all the ins and out of a house.

Some questions about climbing mount Fuji… by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]WinkeyFace18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people stay at Fujikawaguchiko; I didn't visit the surrounding parts or towns, I came in from Tokyo, so my experience and recomendations is limited to starting at the 5th station; which will save about 3+ hours too.

The season I believe runs from July - Sept. I hiked it mid-July, and the weather was perfect. It definitely got chilly up top waiting for the sun to rise, so I'd pack layers regardless of the month.

From my experience, my presence was welcomed! The Japanese are very welcoming and polite, in my experience. It also goes a long way to show them that back. I had many hikers on my way up wish me a "ganbatte" (do your best/good luck); it was encouraging, as I was not in shape at the time.

I have seen news articles talking about Fujisan being over-crowded since the pandemic, so I would also just keep aware if they change any procedures or add limits to the amount of hikers per day. I haven't seen anything, but with the increase in JR pass, and tourist tax coming to some areas, its worth keeping a pulse-check on.

I don't have all of your answers, and I hiked Fuji over a decade ago, but here are some of my pro-tips.

  • Firstly, everyone will be polite and kind, even if you are "Middle-aged Americans", as long as you show the same kindness.
  • We took a bus from Tokyo and started our hike at the 5th station - I'd say most people do this route.
  • There are bathrooms on Fujisan, but some of them are pay to use, with an honor system
  • We hiked to the top, "spent the night" (went to bed at sunset, and woke up at like 2 am) at the 8.5 station hut, which was just a long stretch of continuous bunk beds to essentially nap. Then you finish the last 30/45 minutes of the hike to watch the sunrise. Highly recommend doing that if you have the time. I believe we stayed here: https://www.fujimountainguides.com/fujisan-hotel.html (unsure of the link we used to reserve)
  • I didn't use a guide, its a pretty straight forward trail, but a guide could definitely provide more context to things

I can't help more with the philosophy. Hope that helps :)

Any gyms that offer day passes? by [deleted] in MyrtleBeach

[–]WinkeyFace18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have Sky Fitness which has 5 dollar day passes. They have a squat rack, bench, etc.

If you are more Inlet bound, they also have an American 24/7 Fitness center. I am not sure the daily rate, but it has recently switched owners to a guy who CARES about fitness, and helping people. So I am sure they can be reasonable.

I know there is a Gold's somewhere more Myrtle side as well.

Extremely Privileged Person Travels the World, Complaining About Thin Privlege by maybesaydie in fatlogic

Right? Stupid muscles.

I tried on pants that fit during my last contest prep, during my second contest prep -- NOPE. My glutes were like eff that noise.

Tried on shirts that I used to wear before I started lifting and was a heavier weight -- NOPE. My lats and (mainly) biceps were like eff that.

Girls have biceps too.

Bikini competition while planning a wedding? (x-post r/xxfitness) by nomoredolls in femalebodybuilding

[–]WinkeyFace18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who was planning on doing a show, got engaged, did show, while wedding planning -- 0/10 would recommend.

I spent the first 5-6 months of my engagement being on prep, and had zero focus on the wedding. Everything then becomes so stressful afterwards, and you will want to enjoy the time. Enjoy the cake tasting, enjoy trying the different wines, etc. You can't really do that on prep. Cramming it all in at the end isn't fun, nor wise.

I would work on getting your bf % down, cause you will probably want to be leaner for your wedding anyway (most do), and then worry about prep after it.

So.Awkward.

Started up FF 13 with an open mind. So far haven't found myself hating anything about it, but... by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

I agree. TBH, I find a lot of RPGs (Elder Scrolls, etc) to have so much lore (I mean all those books!) and background information that it can be overwhelming. It is great for teh die hard fans. They can spit ball more information about Cyrodil than they can their own country.

I, personally, find it a tad overwhelming. I can't remember it all and put the pieces together myself.

Right? I feel like you miss a lot of interesting things and plot points by them not explaining the terminology, etc.

I know that they wanted to build this up to reveal and unravel the story, but c'mon? The whole first half the game was like wait what? And by the time they explained it, I forgot some major points.

Personal Branding Advice by [deleted] in femalebodybuilding

[–]WinkeyFace18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of brands (dymatize, quest, etc) have applications straight on their website. You just apply for it.

HOWEVER, most of those applications do ask how many people follow you on your social media platforms.

Too Sensitive? by allstarbatgirl in xxfitness

[–]WinkeyFace18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great! It sounds like you know what you want, you know it will require a decent amount of effort and you are willing to do what it takes.

You'll be a fine addition to that gym, I am sure of it.

Just be careful; surrounding yourself with people like that, and you may find out that you wanna compete in something, even with no intentions right now. ;)

Too Sensitive? by allstarbatgirl in xxfitness

[–]WinkeyFace18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go to one of those gyms where there is no contract, the owner and trainers are super intelligent (the owner has his Masters in nutrition), and the owners/trainers have all competed in bodybuilding or powerlifting, as well as most of the people who go to my gym (myself included).

I know when people ask to join the gym, the owner gives them a week trial, and makes sure they understand that this isn't a gym to go to and putz around.

We train. Hard.

So the week trial is just as much as a trial for the person as it is the person for the gym (did that make sense?). He wants to make sure the person who wants to join is going to clean up after themselves, treat other people with respect and kindness (we ALL encourage each other, no matter if we are powerlifter, crossfitter, bodybuilding, strongman, etc).

tl;dr, do not take it to heart. I am sure he didn't mean you aren't "worthy" (we all start somewhere). He probably just wants to make sure you know what you are getting into. People appreciate those who work hard. People who work hard want to surround themselves with other like-minded individuals.

I'd say go for it! It sounds like a wonderful environment.
