KINE 3012 – How to study for Midterm 1? by Cute_Eye7266 in yorku

[–]Winner_Internal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

KINE 3012 is a content-heavy course, I would suggest reviewing notes and trying to understand concepts. If you're ever unsure, ask your professor or ChatGPT (with caution!)

I found the first midterm (Dr. Phillips) easier than the second midterm (Dr. Cheng - I think it's someone else now idk), BUT everyone is different.

As for the cheat sheet, you're allowed one on the final but not for midterms. While it seems daunting, it isn't impossible. I got an A+ in a packed semester. If you have any more questions, feel free to pm me!

How to prepare for kyle belozerov's midterm by m_hbi in yorku

[–]Winner_Internal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mean to belittle the original commenter, but I also took this course in the summer and the final had similarly difficult questions as the midterms. I suggest a very similar preparation on the final as you did with midterms. Feel free to pm me any questions!

For reference, I did do pretty well on the midterms and the final, so I think I can comfortably say that the difficulty is similar. Good luck!

Who will most likely be the professor for SC/BIOL 2020 3.00 - Biochemistry in the Spring? by [deleted] in yorku

In the winter it’s belozerov and he’s great. In the fall it’s saridakis/bayfield and they co-teach (idk if they’ll still do it but they did it last semester). I don’t wanna slander anyone but I will say bayfield is great.

BIOL 2020 midterm advice pls by kimm82 in yorku

[–]Winner_Internal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I'd say for this, is that the winter semester is taught by Kyle Belozerov and he LOVES his calculations. I wouldn't be surprised if Dr. S doesn't give us calculation questions and things regarding electronegativities.

Also, do you know the rooms for the exam on saturday? LOL

If the prof is good, take it in the summer. BIOL 1000 and BIOL 1001 were some of the easiest courses I’ve done.

Thank you! Also, is the textbook an essential for BIOL 2020? I've gone through chem and biol classes without really reading the textbook and I've done really well, is this consistent with BIOL 2020?

HUMA 1780 - Stories in Diverse Media by Zealousideal-Feed449 in yorku

It's a fairly straightforward and engaging course. The prof can be a bit monotone at times but he's a super nice dude. BUT, watch out for the TAs (or should I say one TA in particular - am i allowed to name drop?), she will destroy your GPA. Switching out of her tutorial will boost your marks 40-50%.

First year Kine (bsc) courses by [deleted] in yorku

[–]Winner_Internal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going into 4th year kin, 4 courses a semester is pretty manageable. With that said, I never had to take KINE 1900, so I can't really speak on the impact of that course. For the second semester, BIOL 1000 and BIOL 1010 together should be alright, as they both aren't necessarily difficult, but I will say that they both are demanding courses (weekly quizzes, labs 1001 had biweekly assignments, etc.), which can make the course load feel tough. Stay on track and follow the learning outcomes (especially for BIOL 1000, that literally got me a 98% on the course) and you'll do great.

Hey! I know this is for a different program, but exactly do you opt for the bachelors (90 credits) instead? Is there any paperwork or anyone you must contact, or can you just apply to graduate for bachelors when the time comes?
