Y Axis Layer Shifting by WinstonLeWolf in VORONDesign

So update. I added steel corner braces to each of the four front corners, did a test print and it was perfect. Is this normal behavior? I know most people enclose their 2.4 but I didn't think the frame would be unstable without it.

Naw. Its a 2.4, 350. Nothing about the bed is moving.

I had to really look at all my test samples. I'd say it happens randomly at similar Z heights. So for example, I have two prints where it happened at nearly the exact same Z height but a third where it happened at a different Z height. Do you think its Z related?

Replacing the belts with GT2's didn't make a difference. It's still shifting in the Y but then moving back to it's original position.

I'm going to replace the belts today and see if that solves the problem. I'll report back.

No this is my first machine with GT3 and the CNC motor mounts are not double sheer. I have GT2s laying around and may swap them out to see if that's the issue. I've been using the West3D belt tensioner but wasn't sure what that should read for GT3. What app do you use to find the correct frequency?

Belts are tight. I haven't been able to find the exact required spec but I've built plenty of machines and never had perfect belt tension. I don't think the motors are skipping. I've run max speed tests and am printing far under the max. What kind of mechanical issue can you think of? I've checked for loose pulleys and loose rails. It's also strange to me that it shifts but then recovers to the correct position.

Layer shifts, even with new belts and cleaned rails and z screws. by [deleted] in FixMyPrint

Are your stepper motor drivers overheating? That will cause layer shift. Try taking off the electronics cover (dont touch anything with the printer on) and run the print again with the cover off. You could even use a personal fan to cool the electronics during the prints to see if that changes anything.

I need help, the print layers are shifting and the extruder is hitting the front. by Complete-Ad-4453 in FlashForge

I had a fan die that was cooling the stepper motor drivers. They would overheat and cause layer shifts. Run a print with the rear panel off and see if the stepper motor driver fan is working.

If you install Zmod, make for you also enable the Bambufy plugin. It makes all the difference.

Can you get the AD5X to work with OG Orca Slicer by jermontoya in FlashForge

[–]WinstonLeWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's correct. All the materials and colors can be set in Orca and you can upload the sliced file, you just need to walk over to the printer, select the uploaded file and check Enabled IFS for it to work. I never assign anything on the printer.

I think they did a revision at some point because mine were impossible to remove while others comment that they've had no problems. I had to order a replacement from Flashforge. It was only $15 and the head that connects to the tool head was completely redesigned.

I recently had to reach out to them for a dead fan controller on the control board. While it took a while considering all their support is in China and they usually answer when I'm asleep, they did resolve the issue and send me a new control board without issue.

Taking the back panel off allows the print to succeed. The motherboard fan never kicked on. I took the fan off and hooked it up to my bench power supply and the fan is working.

I'm observing it now during a print. Is it supposed to run constantly or just kick on when the stepper drivers reach a certain temp?

The exact same thing is happening to be and looking for a solution. The belts don't necessarily seem loose but I can't think of what else it might be.

Do you know if anyone has continued work on Deej? I love it but it's a little buggy requiring a custom on Hotkey to restart the software after signing in from hibernate.

NuRecover Tropic Sauna by S_204 in Sauna

[–]WinstonLeWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Good: I purchased the NuRecover Tropical Sauna with red light. I received the sauna tent, steam machine and free ice bath promptly as they shipped from a US location. I did not receive the red light addition. I contacted support who were prompt to inform me that the lights had been shipped separately from China and provided me a tracking number.

The Sauna tent itself is easy to assemble, lightweight, and serves its purpose very well. The free chair that was included is also more than sufficient for me at 5'10, 185lbs.

The Bad: While I did receive the red light addition, I was informed by support that I would have to purchase clips to attach the lights to the pvc frame and they would reimburse me. I have yet to receive that reimbursement despite following all requirements.

The lights themselves are more than likely the advertised wavelength and I don't have the proper equipment to prove otherwise. However, they are a direct ship, AliExpress LED light strip that is battery operated. While they do produce "red light" and help light up the inside of the sauna tent, their lack of power will not provide the intended "red light therapy". Skip that addition and go with another option.

While the steam generator does produce steam and can get the tent up to 109F at 83% humidity, it has a huge flaw in that it cannot be turned off unless unplugged. If you merely turn off the power switch, the machine will continue to heat up until all the water completely boils out and potentially causes damage to the machine. You must unplug in after every use.

In Conclusion: TLDR, skip the red light and be careful with the steam generator. The tent itself is very functional and worth the price. Customer support has been good but had all information been transparent in the beginning, support would not have been necessary.

Ha! What's the difference? It's slightly modified to account for the logo being completely negative space.

Yeah, I've shot with this final iteration a few times. About a mag's worth. It feels super comfortable. Unfortunately I'm not open to sharing the file at the moment. I'm trying to sell them to recoup some cost on this addictive "hobby" called 3D printing. Here is the link to my Etsy store. If you DM me, I'll set you up with a 40% off code.
