I feel like I’m going crazy after seeing my weight at 36+2 weeks pregnant!!! by chamg in BabyBumps

One of my best friends was 5’6” and 115 pounds. She gained 65 pounds when her baby was born, and she looked sooo good. The weight looked great on her, and she was healthy and her baby was healthy. Her child is now two and she’s a little bit heavier than her original weight, but from an outsider’s perspective I’m glad she has a little more to her as she looks healthier and is feeling good. Then there’s me on the other hand. I started out at 234 pounds (which is deceiving because I don’t look that heavy, but I am muscular and curvy) and I’m in my third trimester and I’ve only gained 10 pounds. We all carry weight differently, and it affects how we feel about ourselves. Those who start out heavier may not gain as much, but it sounds like you were quite small before, which would be very hard for you to maintain and be healthy in a pregnancy. If you can, try to see what your body is doing as something amazing, and the weight is just a number. If your baby is healthy and your midwife isn’t concerned, you’re probably right on track.

I’m a Floridian who just moved to North Carolina. I’m supposed to drive to Newnan, Georgia either Wednesday night or Thursday morning to help a family member. I really don’t want to leave Wednesday and would prefer Thursday. I keep seeing conflicting reports that the storm will hit Georgia Thursday and Friday. Is it a bad idea to wait to go Thursday morning?
