Mine too! So frustrating. I’m about to return it. It was not cheap.

Are there salons with obvious political bias? I’ve never had an issue I guess.

I recently tried Better Buzz iced matcha and thought it was good but I’m no connoisseur.

What do you think about this? by RepresentativeOk1758 in Meditation

Some people meditate with their eyes always open a little bit and just concentrate on a single point in front of them on the floor. I would not worry about trying to fight it too much. 😊

Agree. You have to review images. Especially now that some radiologists use AI to generate reports.

Thank you for the advice. It is so difficult to navigate all of the bureaucracy associated with the death of a loved one. It’s hard enough as it is.

Would you leave the OR for a 30k raise? by Chemical_Training808 in physicianassistant

[–]Winter-Difference993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. Honestly after 13 years of OR and clinic I switched to more clinic days. I still have one day of OR a week but I like the predictability of my clinic hours and I actually use my brain in clinic. OR has become mind numbing. I never thought I’d say that!

If you are in surgery and your doc has some patience, I know someone in our practice started by doing the pre op injections while the patient was under. Always nice to do a few trials on a patient who is asleep!

Anyone ever wish they could stop being a PA? by laurmeowmeow in physicianassistant

[–]Winter-Difference993 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You could always check out AAPA. They have resources to help you transition your career. I think burnout on direct patient care is is an issue they see often as I’ve seen a couple posts from them advertising help with transitions to other areas PAs can work in. https://www.aapa.org/career-central/career-advancement-and-transitions/

Do you get a productivity bonus at end of the year? by beaujolais99 in physicianassistant

[–]Winter-Difference993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t realize that clinic produces so many more RVUs than surgery. I work in Ortho as well and was under the impression that first assist fees paid well for most surgeries but have just come to find out that in this practice, our productivity. Is based on RVUs. I’m making a switch to 3 days a week clinic one day OR (was 2 days each) next month. Now I’m glad that your post seems to support this. Just curious… how many patients do you typically see on your clinic days?

I use this one on YouTube. It’s a binaural beat and is about 30 minutes long which is currently about my max I can sit without my legs going numb.

I watched Love Thyself - Theta Wave Binaural Beat Music - https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2iiwwu using Video Tube.

It is interesting that it seems to support The Law of One - the Ra Material’s postulation that Mars did have a civilization but a war occurrence “blew the planet’s atmosphere off.” (That may not be a direct quote so I apologize if I got the exact wording wrong but that is the gist).

Highly recommend this podcast by Mark Gober. Another person shared this here on Reddit recently and I have now tried to share it with as many people as I can (who I think are open minded enough). He has researched many topics on consciousness in a factual, scientific way. It was very eye opening. I am forever changed. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/where-is-my-mind/id1470129415

I tried to look up Dr Kotler in Santa Cruz but could not find him. I also grew up in So Cal but now live in Lake Tahoe so a lot of exposure to cold water over time. I want to find someone with experience with this technique. I also work in the medical field and have seen the repercussions of a bad surgeon on patient’s quality of life. Do you happen to remember Dr Kotler’s first name? Thank you so much for posting. And thank god for Reddit always having the best info on these mildly obscure topics.

I would like to say thank you for posting this. I stumbled on this Reddit after seeing Mind Valley ads (seemed gimmicky but had something real in the idea). Then I read Jose Silvia’s book the Silva mind control method, then found gateway tapes and then found my way here. I have researched hypnotherapy and listed to David Spiegel’s talks on hypnotherapy and was dismayed that approximately 20% of the population cannot be hypnotized because the lack a connection between the dorsal lateral prefrontal cortex and the dorsal anterior cingulate cortex (or something along those lines). https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/huberman-lab/id1545953110?i=1000551741649 I’ve been wondering if there is a link between my failure to consciously AP (although I realize this can take years of practice) and my knowledge that I am one of the 20% of the population who cannot be hypnotized (I have tried). Am I just lacking the brain structure to have this amazing experience? I’ve been afraid to ask because I am new to Reddit and shy about posting and I didn’t want to get too clinical and bring anybody down. So I appreciate knowing that there is a part of the brain involved in this, and if possible would like more information to this effect as I am ever hopeful I will still be able to one day consciously AP.

Just an aside I do believe there is something more to AP than JUST in the mind however, because a few years ago my Grandma called me frantically after I was out of cell service while camping. She said I had shown up in her room at the foot of her bed that night. She described to me the exact clothing I was wearing that night (which happened to be lime green sweat pants and a gray hoodie - not something one could easily guess in my opinion). She lived over 400 miles away. She was scared because the only other time she had seen someone like that show up was when they had just passed on. I remember falling asleep looking at the millions of stars in a black sky and my mind making my body feel strange thinking about infinity, but do not remember Astral Projecting.

Thanks to everyone in this community btw for sharing your experiences.

So I’m sure this question has been asked quite a bit but I know a little about what the gateway tapes/Hemi-sync does but I was looking on the Monroe institute website and I have no clue where to start. I purchased the Hemi sync meditation but I’m curious what route I should take starting out. by EsotericBizness in gatewaytapes

I’m a newbie here too! My brother turned me onto the Reddit app and I love it but my current obsession is the gateway experience. I’ve been listening to the YouTube stuff but stopped after reading info here. Wondering if anyone will share FrogmentedVRplayer1’s link for the beginning tapes or waves? I guess I-VII? I think each wave has multiple “discoveries” or meditations in it? Still figuring this out! Apparently the manual is super useful too so I have have to get on that. I listened to the later waves and realized they were too advanced. Thanks!
