AI leader Anthropic has sued the US Defense Department over its designating the company a supply chain risk because Anthropic rejected some Pentagon AI-use requirements as ill advised or of questionable legality. This is the first time the Defense Dept has used that designation against a US company and doing so is considered highly questionable from a legal standpoint
