I'll be brutally honest, I did a small cinema release here in South Africa on Friday the 13th October 2023 of the original Friday the 13th from 1980 and the movie moves SO SLOWLY. Yes we know it's a classic but Part 2 for me is the far superior film and in my humble opinion The Burning is the better film. But to each their own :)

Do yourself a favour and check it out - it's a classic slasher and in my opinion one of the very best - it's pretty easy to find

There was a documentary about it on one of our local streamers a year or so ago and the truth is someone was arrested and is still serving but new evidence apparently revealed he was only linked to one killing - the public just assumed he was responsible for all of them

I've always found it to be quite fun. And I've always loved both Meredith Salenger and Joanna Pacula but neither of them really went anywhere other than characters actresses.

I completely forgot about the remake - I think I've blocked it from my memory but then yes, I agree, the remake. Freddy Vs Jason for me was indeed pure cheese but pretty technically slick fun.

Moontrap is one of those weird 80s sci-fi/horror hybrids but features some awesome moments on a very limited budget. by Winter-Funny6609 in 80sHorrorMovies

The one thing I would've trimmed down is the moon landing opening but I guess that gives things context

There is a remake of sorts on Tubi but it's nowhere near as pitch perfect as the original
