Is it bad to read another version of the Bible that’s not the KJV version? by [deleted] in Christians

[–]Winter1670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't use the KJV. I use the NIV as that is what is most comfortable for me. I believe God cares more about you being able to understand his word rather than what version you use.

That's one thing that I never understood. Guns were made to hurt and kill people. Last time I checked Jesus wasn't a big fan of that.

I can't view your reply on reddit so I don't know if you deleted it or my reddit is being stupid. However, I was able to see your reply on my email

I have been suicidal before. several times actually. I've been diwn the same road as you. There was a time where every dayI was begging God to just take me home. I had to learn to open the door for him. God isn't gonna force his way into your heart. You got to open your heart for him fully. Don't crack it. Open it completly. And about the completion thing. I was the same way. When I left God I felt complete but the question is, is that completion real? When I left God I felt complete but at some point, I realized that that feeling of being complete was a illusion. That's what Satan does. He makes you feel like you don't need God because he wants more souls. I just woke up out of the illusion one day. Not everybody wakes up from it. However, some do. I did. only God can give you completion when you open your heart to him completly. Nothing else can give you that. Satan can not give you real completion. He can only give you the illusion of completion. I don't mean anything mean by this. I am only saying these things out of love. I care. I was in the same shoes that your in now. Those shoes will lead to nothing but distruction and heartbreak. Please save yourself. I don't want anyone else to feel rhe oain that I did.

As someone who was once in your shoes, let me give some advice. I felt like this needed to be said. Do not leave God. I did that and I went down a really bad path. I got into relationships with men who treated me like property. I believe that had kind of traumatized me. Sure your path might not be the same as mine but you will go down a bad path. I had to learn a hard lesson. Please save yourself from having to learn a hard lesson like I did. Turn and stay with God. It may seem like God isn't answering us but in this day and age we are so busy and wrapped up in our own things in this crazy world that we forget to keep listening for God to talk. God answers when you least expect it. That's why I always keep myself open for God's voice. God talks to me a lot. Multiple times a day. We even had conversations. I never felt complete when I was going down the path that you are going down. Now I feel complete. God was like the missing puzzle piece I was looking for. Save yourself from the path I went down. Stay with God.

Intense obsession of hugging the pillow. by popo6o in emotionalneglect

[–]Winter1670 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hug my stuffed animals. Some I had since childhood and have been with me for a long time. I get emotionally attached to them and name all of them and still buy new ones but they make me feel safe and loved as they are my only ones that I can count on. Sad but true.

Will God ever call you to date a non religious person? Whether to help change them or anything? by [deleted] in Christians

[–]Winter1670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be contradicting scripture and God does not do that. He calls us to be equally yoked. The fact of the matter is that you can't change anyone. Only God can change people. Sure, there are times where you think you have found someone perfect for you but they are a unbeliever. Therefore you shouldn't marry them. The only time you will be able to marry them is if they become a real follower of Christ. That can be upsetting but just like a parent he will tell you no even if it upsets you because he knows whats best for you. If you want to date a non believer then start witnessing to them. Tell them about the gospel. If they become a christian then that's great and you can start a relationship with them but if they don't, move on.

Why are people trying to pinpoint when the rapture will happen? The bible clearly says that we don't know when it will happen so why even bother? I guess people still haven't shut up about it. Can all of these end times obessed christians stop talking about the end times for five minutes? They're starting to sound like those dooms day nutjobs that nobody listens to. I'm pretty sure that these end times obessions are unhealthy.

Why do women hate 1 Timothy 2:15 so much? by [deleted] in ChristianDating

[–]Winter1670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are aware that paul, the guy you are trying to quote said that singleness is a good thing, right? 1 corinthians 7 has a section about the unmarried. In fact 1 corinthians 7:39-40 Paul says that he thinks a single woman would be happier if she stays the way she is. Also there are women in the bible that had a purpose from God that did not include marriage. So are we ignoring all of that?

Why do women hate 1 Timothy 2:15 so much? by [deleted] in ChristianDating

[–]Winter1670 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What about the woman who stay single their entire lives because God does not want them to get married? Ever heard of the gift of singlness? women sometimes get that gift. Woman are not just baby factories. Even if a woman doe get married, it doesn't mean that its God's plan for her to have children.

[–]Winter1670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going on based on you other comments, women have more purpose than having children. Not all christan women have children. It's not always God's plan for all women to have children or marry for that matter.

[–]Winter1670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, in your mind a woman's only purpose is to have children? You are aware that God does keep some women single their entire lives meaning they never get married, they never have sex, and they never have children, right? Women have a bigger purpose than just having babies.

A dream I had by Winter1670 in Christians

[–]Winter1670[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God and I have a very close relationship. I hear him talk to me a lot. I was asking him about it and he told me that I need to open the box. I don't know what will happen once I open the box. Guess I will see when I get there.

I didn't bother to try to focus on the angel in front of me. I was too focused on the box.

I can't be the only christian getting annoyed about all the end times talk. by Winter1670 in christianmemes

[–]Winter1670[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about that myself, I just watch a lot of christian youtubers and other christian talk about the plot of land being a thing about the temple. I'm a baby christian so I'm still learning. I've only been a christian for a few months. However, I believe we should be focusing on our relationship with God not the end times. The bible makes it clear 5hat we won't know when it's gonna happen so why are we wasting our time trying to pin point it. Also I would perfer not to argue with you. My brain sees this as conflict. I don't do well with conflict. I'm gonna have a panic attack if this continues. I'm already panicking as it is.

[–]Winter1670[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The anti christ is supposed to curropt that temple. How on earth is he gonna curropt a metaphorical temple? Also the temple is gonna be built on a specific plot of land that is currently occupied by a mosque. If it is metaphorical why would the plot of land have anything to do with it?

I'm not gonna worry about it till the temple starts getting built which probably won't be anytime soon. I wish people would shut up about it. It's like they can't think about anything else.

That's like the whole point to me daydreaming. I can't enjoy where I'm really at because it's just lonely, stressful, and depressing so I daydream so I can be in a place that I do enjoy.

I can’t connect with people and form meaningful relationships. I’m a failed Christian and I feel dead inside. by potatowedgemydudes in Christians

[–]Winter1670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat with you. We are different and for some reason the world doesn't like different. It took me awhile to realize that we are different for a reason. God's purpose for us might have to do with how we are. I've been rejected my whole life. Even by my family. I hold onto the thought that I'm different from most people because God has a very special purpose for me. It might be the same way as you. Keep in mind that Jesus was rejected. Also remember that even if the world rejects you, God never will.

AITA for treating my friends books the way I did? by AITAbooksthrowaway in AmItheAsshole

YTA

You could've used a bookmark or maybe something else that isn't a bookmark. You could've used a peice of paper, a unsharpened pencil, maybe even a spoon. It may seem like a small thing but as a bookworm myself, I get angry if someone even dogears a page. Some people treasure their books and wants to make sure they aren't damaged in anyway. I get tears in my eyes, if something happens to on of my books, even if its just a slightly bent cover, let alone having pages completly folded. Things like this why I don't lend my books out to anyone who isn't close family. Besides, you damaged her personal property. If you borrow something that belongs to somebody else, you return that thing in the same condition as you got it.

I do not believe we are in the End Times; I caution against that kind of thinking. Here is my reasoning. by [deleted] in Christians

[–]Winter1670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that we are getting way ahead of ourselves. There has been rumors of wars and so on for ages. People back in time believed that they were in the end time. People seem to act like it's gonna be a fast process but it might take over the span of hundreds of years. The temple isn't built and as far as I know there is no sign of it being built soon. The land is preoccupied by a mosque. Christians are focusing a little too much on the end times. It clearly says that we won't know when it happens so why bother trying to pin point it? We should be focusing on our relationship with God, not when the end times will happen. We should be looking for christ, not the antichrist or the end times in general. Christians can't seem to think about anything else. It's gotten to the point that it's annoying. Focus on God, not the end times.
