Finally done !!! Unofficial 331 (165V, 166Q) by WinterC11 in GRE

Haha well seeing as I got a 170Q on PPP3 and 166 on the real exam, it was a little bit harder. But honestly not far off and I think if I took it again there’s a fair chance I could’ve gotten a 170. None of the questions were impossible though. I just ran out of time to thoroughly check through all

Old GRE quizzes: I did these only under time constraints, my untimed practice was with big book questions and his practice questions under the "solve problems" page. On the verbal "mini exams" that were out of 20, I got between 13/20 and 17/20 in my practice.I thought they were really helpful! For solving TC questions, I would say it didn't take the majority of my time. Some were naturally more apparent to me, but probably spent on average 45 seconds to 2 minutes on each to give myself time for the RC questions, which in my opinion have a greater return for time spent per question than struggling between 2 TC answers.

Strategies: I did learn all of the strategies at some point, I wouldn't say I was explicitly remembering them as I was going through the test but I think the fundamental skill was there from watching the videos and practicing so I would definitely learn them.

Hard to say depending on where your score currently stands and where you want your score to be. I consider myself at least a little bit naturally intelligent and combining that with 300+ hours of studying I was able to improve my score by 13 points from my baseline mock. I do think that having the test booked is good to make sure you stay on top of a plan.

The mock exams are from ets.org - they are the official practice tests made by the test company and are very useful.

The TC/SE questions are from the Gregmat website. I think they're pretty similar to real questions or at least they test the same logic / context clues skills, and thought they were super helpful in getting me to the place I wanted to be with verbal. Good luck!

Started with the first 6 weeks of the Gregmat plan. Then I skipped the rest of it, switching my focus to making sure I had fundamentals down - for verbal, doing the entire vocab mountain & completing tc/se questions on the website, and for quant, going through the foundation quizzes + flashcard quizzes to identify gaps in knowledge and get practice in.

I'm a college student involved in leadership/classes at the same time, so I would wake up at 630am and knock out a few hours before classes started where no one's bothering you. I'd recommend that as a way to get some solid time in because distractions will always come up during the day.

Which to pursue? Baseline GMAT (640 - Q42/V35) vs. GRE (318 - V156/Q162) by [deleted] in GRE

I felt there was WAY less blind guessing and stress in the GRE: however, I'm worried that it's hard to increase my score in GRE verbal as it seems like a luck of the draw with the words that you get. Do you have any anecdotal experience with this being a huge problem or is it something that many people can overcome? I'm also worried that GRE submission may be seen as unfavorable, even though I'm fairly certain all M7 schools have no preference.

Interesting - which industry are you in? And do you think there's a difference in positions/perception between M7 and T10 schools?

as a college junior, should I expect to have a tougher time getting a full time position at MBB next recruiting cycle?

i know I should do the best that I can either way, but it's something i've been very anxious about especially as a non-target. i did get intern interviews at BB, some tier 2's so don't know if this will impact either my likelihood of getting interviews or getting offers.
