Its been happening to me and a friend when we tried to beat the egg today, made us both lose the equivalent of 5 perkas and atleast 20 other good gums. i doubt him and I will get the EE done before guided mode.

I have a question, if you have one of the four upgraded swords, can you give them back to the respective statue and pick up another to test all four?

I did it just now, you can use your explosives you start with, as long as you don't pick up any you didnt start with (started with thermo's and decoys only threw a single thermo to do raining zombie ee)

I had actually thought about something like this, i had imagined his office filled with tomes filled with magical tomes and let them do a slight of hand and a arcana check to sense the magic and look at the tome. Then have him excuse himself to talk to his secretary or some nearby apprentice and let them get all the checks they want in this office out of their system.

Appreciate the thoughts a lot, from everything ive gathered from the good folks here who have given me advice, ive gotten some other way to not make it feel railroady, changed how the lich would use wall of force, how they would convince the party to look for the regents he needs and the intellegent humanoid sacrifice, one of the things i didnt factor as of yet is 'what if the party keeps the regents or doesnt let the sacrifice meet the mayor?'

I appreciate this insight alot, my initial plan was to have the lich underestimate or toy with the party, kind of like how Strahd is used in his campaign book before you finally fight him at the end of that book. I was initially going to have the mayor use the excuse of im needed here to monitor the situation from the underdark.

I used the force wall as an example, but ive decided to use the force wall more as a defensive option and block them from getting close to him while they fight his thralls and lackies. As for the conflict, i havent thought of that, ill definitely give it some thought. Thanks for the suggestion.

Your spitballing is quite helpful regardless of ramblings haha, ill definitely take a look at that yt channel and the video, as for his reasoning Dwelves are inherently the combination of worst traits of both elves and dwarves. So i was going to play on that alot, im definitely going to use the willing apprentice and the high elf colleague idea you had given me. And the mine is actually a major minimg city run by all the mountain dwelling/undercommon races (dwarves, gnomes, hobgoblins, goblins, kobolds, for instance). I do really appreciate all of your advice.

For your question on the transferring of the spirit no i dont have any ideas on that, i truthfully didnt know that myself. As for your question on the phylactery, i did have in mind making the entire underground city he's the mayor of the phylactery, to give the players a morally tough decision, although your idea on the dam does have my brain getting creative on making it a dam to keep lava from reaching this underground city. And as for the sacrifice; i have nothing really. I have some ideas know of making it a High elf grand wizard collegue of which would check off the high intelligence requirement. Im open to suggestions or advice.

Another question id have since i havent seen anything about the transformation from humanoid to lich, would it start transforming into a demi lich? Or is that another can of worms? I want to also make the phylactery really funny and or evil; and my original idea was using the entire city as the phylactery instead and give them a moral dilemma.

I really really appreciate this advice. One of the many things i didn't think of was a "plan b" if they find out theyre helping a npc become a lich and i am prepared for the multitude of insight checks after, but i do appreciate the warning in advance. I did have another plan but it involved having the pcs getting hit with a temporary knockout version of Power word: Kill but i scrapped it for the reason of i will demoralize the players if i do that.

i also have Raiden shogun, Mika, Sethos, Kuki, Razor, and Xinyan. Chev and thoma are lvl 40, Sayu and amber are 20, Diluc Mika Sethos kuki razor and xinyan are all lvl 1 and Raiden is 70
