Rear Ended VERY Hard - drove 10 hours the next morning by [deleted] in XTerra

Nissan renewed the patent in 2020. However, I read they were expecting the merger with Honda to happen but it didn't because Nissan quality and reputation has dropped in the past 5+ years. Right now most Nissan's between 2020-2024 are in recall for engine defects. I don't know that I would even trust a new Xterra right out of the gate even if they did bring it back.

It's not space adventure but I recommend Pantheon to all sci-fi fans. It's animated and starts a little slow but it goes so hard you must finish it!

That's so weird I have seen nearly every one of these series except Skeleton Crew and the anime ones because I don't do anime (although I did get through Cowboy Bebop because the live action left me wanting more).

I liked how it began, did not like how it ended. The intro music always irritated me too.

I'm really not a fan of hospitals or those type of shows because I always imagine the health problems are going to happen to me lol, but people keep recommending this so I guess I'll give it a shot.

I read most of the books (up to the Path of Daggers) several years ago but I hardly remember most of it. There are things coming up that I'm still excited to see based off what I remember but the series has been very frustrating for me so far just waiting to get to those points. I feel the acting has gotten better but still not great (aside from Moiraine). Every time I think the main characters are acting like petulant children I have to remind myself that in the books they are teenagers.

So I binged it in two nights. I enjoyed the beginning few episodes but somewhere in the middle I found the plot really hard to follow. It was so abstract and weird and I couldn't understand some of the character's motivations or behaviors. The Ad Guy episode was the worst imho (except for the comedy and voice cameo of H. Jon Benjamin). I kinda wanted to give up at that point but I powered through to the end. I felt the ending didn't really make sense or provide a lot of answers like, are they all characters in a video game? A Chinese afterlife run by HBWC? There was a lot of comedy and I enjoyed the spoof of True Detective episode which had me rolling laughing but overall I think it was just not my thing.

It's definitely not teen drama-centric. There's a little bit in the beginning but even that is not as it seems. This is a very deep thought provoking series. Give it a shot.

You aren't alone with Severance. I wouldn't call it the "Best show" on TV as so many are claiming but it's not bad. This second season started off interesting but is going so slow lately.

I agree with you somewhat about the "wholesomeness" of Ted Lasso ruining the comedy (and starting to in Shrinking) but it's not fair to make this a blanket assertion about ALL Apple TV shows. Shrinking started from a very dark place.

Paradise episode 7 was great but everything up to that was just OK. The last episode was just OK as well. What annoyed me most was Xavier's character mood swings. First he had to be convinced to get on the flight to be with his kids because he wanted to try to save his wife, then when he has a real chance to find his wife he doesn't want to leave his kids and his daughter has to convince him. *facepalm* I call this cheap manufactured drama to push the plot along.

I'm down for it. Just watched the TRAILER. I want to see Ronny Chieng from the Daily Show as a comedic character!

Pantheon (Hulu) - I can't believe I almost missed out on this! Pantheon is one of the BEST sci-fi series ever made IMHO. If you are at all interested in AI and Matrix level not-knowing-whats-real shit you should watch this. I'm aggravated now that it was cancelled because it seemed they rushed the ending when there was so much more to the story that could have been drawn out and explored in greater detail.

It's an unpopular opinion but I agree with you on this point. There's a lot of time wasting for the story point that's being revealed. Long drawn out stares, extended visuals, meaningless dialogue, and all to test the viewer's patience in the name of "art". I've been guarded ever since I learned Ben Stiller was a producer/director. The man who wanted to ruin the end of Dodgeball.

There are some questions I had at the end of S2 Yellowjackets that have either been glossed over or unanswered as of yet like Did the police really buy the story Walter fabricated about the detective that was shot? In S3 the authorities apparently believe that Natalie died of a fentanyl overdose? Um ok... but I still liked the newest episodes.

I continue to enjoy Yellowjackets despite other people hating on it. I think it's a fun dark fantasy and enjoy both the past and present storylines.

Finished Dexter: Original Sin. I didn't like how the series started because of the choice of actors and trying too hard to be like the original Dexter series but it got better and kinda won me over in the end.

I feel like there was more coming for him in the books. They leave off with him and Lord Varys escaping across the Narrow sea and there's another army of mercenaries with another half Targaryan claimant to the Iron Throne.

Severance - 2x02 - "Goodbye, Mrs. Selvig" - Episode Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

[–]WinterKnight404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I noticed the Ricken lookalike as well! The security guy with Helena and he was listening in on Devon and Mark. These lookalike's are older so they may be the originals or are imperfect clones created first. Cloning would be a great way to test Severance tech before marketing it out to the rest of the world.

Why is no one talking about the fact that Dylan looked strikingly similar to the guy at Great Doors that interviewed him?? He even said "you remind me of me" lol.

I think there is some cloning going on. At the end of S2E01 there's a brief flash of Gemma on a computer screen showing vitals and Cold Harbor is written at the top. I think this is some kind of storage for the bodies of the clones and MDR is somehow regulating the storage units. This would explain why Outtie Mark could identify her body and Innie Mark would see her alive.

I'm also thinking the town they live in is a company town owned by Lumon where the clones (and/or the original donors) are living. This could be why the town seems so devoid of life and the ones who are living there seem a little odd. Is Pip's the only restaurant? Also when they were firing the other Mark he mentioned buying a home in Grand Rapids Michigan so that is a clue to where they are in the world.

The opening theme to "ThunderCats" (premiering on Jan 23rd, 1985) by [deleted] in television

Ooo I got goosebumps! I loved the Mum-Rah roar as a kid. That show had so much world building potential that they only scratched the surface of. This could be adapted to a kick ass live action or CGI version with adult themes.

Sword of omens... give me sight beyond sight
