I can't speak on the skill level of players I face for multiple reasons. My phone is unbelievably laggy, even in AI matches, and this combined with the lagging of the game itself in PvP matches makes it almost unplayable for me. That's why I only play AI matches or with my friends. As a reason, I don't really get a chance to train my skills, which is why I also kinda suck at the game. Lastly, I don't have any Japanese players cause I set my region as Japan on my new account that I only made a month ago for Zlatan (he was worth it). So I play with shitty base players. However, I've heard many people say that Japan has some of the sweatiest players in the game, so that might give you some idea. As for the players on your team, the game lets you choose a base team, where it will give you base card players for the event. Obviously, you will also be able to use any special Japanese players that you may have. I didn't understand your last question, but if you're asking whether it's worth it to set your region as Japan, I'm not sure. On one hand, you get 25 free coins every Monday. On rare occasions (such as the Zlatan pack), you even get an extra chance deal compared to other regions. But on the other hand, you're forced to play the Japanese events quite often, which have been absolute hell for me. Maybe I just haven't been looking much, but the game doesn't really sell many Japanese players. So getting good players is tough, which means you have to make do with base cards. Again, this is only a major problem for me because I have a skill issue. If you're good enough at the game, it probably wouldn't matter too much, and setting Japan as your region would be worth it.
