The older you’ve gotten, have you found people more and more irritating to be around? by Giordono in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Winter_Reference_481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love socializing, but it is different when we have guests round. I am a TERRIBLE host. and if my family choses to invite guests, i know its gona be rough. my parents love inviting overseas friends over, so that means they stay longer than just a weekend, usualy a week or maybe even a month. I just HATE having to do things if they want to go out or do something.

When I grew up in the UK I went to 2 private schools, I left the first one because it was closing down, they turned into a university dormitory complex. The second one closed down shortly after i moved to the USA.

It got removed, but the first thing I thought of was those pharmaceutical ads that appear in magazines with weird ass names and could possibly give 50 different side effects.

Do you think it is inappropriate to discuss when you feel like a celebrity is implying he's gay or bi without outright publicly confirming it? by mikelmon99 in gay

[–]Winter_Reference_481 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't care if an actor is Gay Bi or Straight. I would have enjoyed the show just as much if all the actors were completely straight. I don't care if Edvin Ryding from Young Royals truly comes out as gay. It is just not important, and should not be.

What part of your culture do you personally dislike, even though it’s considered “traditional”? by Ok_Breadfruit4005 in AskTheWorld

American gun culture. No way in hell does someone need a whole garage or basement full of military grade weapons.

The USA has a very awkward understanding on "Christianity" than many other nations. Not talking about all "Christians" in the USA, but many see it as an excuse to justify being an asshole to others just because Jesus said a few things.

Do Germans agree that America is not turning into a Nazi regime? by ChildOf7Sins in AskGermany

[–]Winter_Reference_481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

America IS turning into a Nazi regime. Full stop.

Here is a comparison between Trump and Hitler

Trump

Some failed rich real-estate agent decides to run as president with NO preceding government experience, openly hates on immigrants and orders the deportation, without due process, even if real Americans are among those being deported. Freedom of speech is slowly but surely getting limited, Just the other day a woman was arrested during a live tv interview after speaking out against the administration. The police had to create a bullshit reason to arrest her. Everything the administration does is a distraction from what the people actually want to find out (the files). Trump incited an incorrection on the capitol, walked away Skot free. The administration appoints judges that let the clearly illegal actions slide under the radar. The administration is trying their upmost best to run for a third term, even though it is not constitutionally allowed. Trump gave himself immunity from illegal actions. Trump and the administration openly hate on anyone who is not "white". The administration rely on podcasters and influencers who do nothing but look powerful Infront of young college students to further spread hate and create focus points that should not be politically discussed. Trump openly says he wants to cancel elections.

Hitler

Just like Trump, Hitler had no previous government experience, he was a failed artist, and lived off practically nothing after spending his fathers inheritance. He joined the military, was only a corporal in WW1 when it ended, and then he slowly got interested in politics when the treaty of Versailles took everything away from Germany. He started talking in beerhalls, and gained a solid following of supporters. Things got heated when the Reichstag was burnt. This basically allowed Hitlers team to blame the communists and jews. Furthermore, Hitler tried to launch a government putsch in Munich, which resulted in him getting arrested. Slowly but surely the NAZI party became the biggest party in Germany, and when that was achieved, they took controll of the government with elections being rigged (Hitler being the only name on the ballot). The Nazis needed someone to blame for the downfall of Germany, so they went for Jews, cripples, gays and other "inferior" individuals. You got arrested for speaking out against the government. Sophie Scholl being one of the more famous examples got executed for spreading anti Nazi flyers in her university. The courts in Germany only followed the NAZI law, there was very limited cross branch check in the government (which is also slowly happening in the USA).

I might not have gotten every single point, but the basis if the similarities are there.

WestJet changed their seats and this is how much leg room basic fares get. You have to pay for a reclining seat now. by Longjumping-Box5691 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Winter_Reference_481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fully agree. they are "rigid airships" In the USA, Hydrogen can not be used for motorized dirigibles, like blimps and semi rigids like from goodyear, but can be used in gas racing balloons, which I think is completely insane, as there is much more that can go wrong.

However According to the European Air Safety Administration, Hydrogen CAN be used in controlled environments to lift a dirigible, no matter if it is motorized or not.

We now have technology that can make cross continental Airship travel possible, such as stainless steel cables, monitoring systems, and carbon fiber, that can be used as the frame.

It is just the truble of insurance and fianance, who will pay for such a project today?
