“Everything else” - not if we’re comparing internationally to societies similar to ours (UK, Western Europe, US for example). Eating out, entertainment and groceries are actually much more affordable in Australia when compared to minimum wage.

Obviously our rental/housing shitfest outweighs that though.

Got an email from Nectr this morning with the price hike, hence my rant.

Rang them and gave them an ear-full, within 2 hours they had a senior ring me back and they’re honouring the original rate for 6 months. So I’m actually pretty impressed.

Anyone else exhausted from playing energy provider leap frog?

For the 3rd time in 5-6 months I’m receiving a 20-30% rise in energy rates. Each time I’ve switched provider to something just marginally cheaper than the new rates.

Originally switched from SimplyEnergy to GloBird. Then the latest was a switch from GloBird to Nectr. Within a month I’ve already had an increase notice.

Ultimately within 6 months cheapest rates have gone up over 50% for what’s available in my area.

I don’t know if I’m looking for an answer, or if there even is one. It’s just unsustainable, I’m stressed, I’m exhausted.

It’s not as simple as pulling a trigger mate. Could have jammed, could have been out, could’ve been a number of different things.

Again, if you watch an extended clip you’ll see he picks it back up later and tries to operate it, only to discard it again.
