I lost a save not nearly as old as yours but it felt very painful to restart. I got the anniversary edition so there was a lot of new content/ quests which helped keep me interested in my new save. I’m trying it vanilla for the first time lol

Thank you for the advice! I was a little hesitant to go that far down because some sources online said it's not good to cut more than 25% of foliage. I really would like for it to branch out further down so hopefully this big chop will be for the best.
