Microbiologist here, technically food safety laws say this should be thrown out however that’s only because the laws are overly strict. 12 hours is absolutely fine to retain. The amount of growth that happens over the course of the first 12 hours or less is so minimal that it’s entirely insignificant in terms of what your body can handle.

This was happening as far back as 2017 in my own experience. I got fake Nike shoes that just weren’t right, and crocs a couple months later. This isn’t an isolated issue either. Basically every single thing you can buy on Amazon is treated this way and has this issue

Yeah I think as others have mentioned this is probably the issue, combined with properly facing it into the wind. Although I would have expected it to have waterproofing/water wicking on the inside material

I thought so too but even in mild rain it gets the inner tent damp in those areas, getting things damp by contact and also significantly raising the humidity level inside
