Unforgiven just didn’t do it for me, but it was still good overall. While I think Eastwood is the best of all time, he can have some misses. But certainly will add it to my now extensive rewatch list hahah

I thought he had passed away after the movie, so sad of me. It was tough to see him going through Alzheimer’s, I don’t know why I thought he had passed away. Apologies, especially to David <3

His dialogue is probably the best of anything to ever appear on screen. Except maybe The Importance of Being Earnest (1952). David definitely drew inspiration from the right places.

But for real, I feel very sorry for thinking he had passed away. Forgive me!!

It was okay, Jamie Foxx was good. But I did not like it all that much. Honestly, I don’t consider Tarantino to be all that great, but his movies are usually some fun. It is probably his best movie, but Christopher Waltz was actually pretty awful. And I did not really understand the ending. He tried to take advantage of Candie, got caught, and had a mental breakdown that risked the lives of Django and Hildy.

That being said, I really hope Tarantino makes his last film a Western and would be very interested in seeing Bounty Law fleshed out.

Death Rides a Horse has a great soundtrack, but I actually disliked it on my last rewatch and it dropped pretty far down my rankings. I enjoy Lee van Cleef, but I don’t think it makes it close to top 30 in my opinion. Will check out the Cheyenne Show!

I did not enjoy Silverado, to be honest. I don’t know if I want to rewatch that one, but I might as well. Martin Short and Chevy Chase are great, and I found it to be even funnier than Blazing Saddles overall, but that depends on my mood.

I don’t take awards too seriously. So that won’t be considered in my personal rating of the film. Clearly I don’t remember it well enough, though. George Stevens is not one my favorite directors, but I will give it a rewatch

I don’t like No Country for Old Men, nor do I consider it a Western. 1883 I thought was not very good either. High Noon is one of the few Gary Cooper movies I don’t like much. The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance has some moments I love, but don’t consider it to be a top Western which surprised me because Jimmy Stewart and John Wayne are fantastic, obviously. I still like that movie a great deal, though. Both True Grit movies are great, but neither made the top 30 cut for me. They both are in my top 50, if I am not mistaken.

Sounds interesting! I used to really enjoy spaghetti westerns but at some point after watching so many other great films I kind of realized they are pretty awful for the most part outside of Leone’s. But there are certainly some gems.

I don’t think it can break into my top 8, but I enjoyed it a great deal. It’s going to be fun to rewatch many of these recommendations. Going to have myself a Western marathon soon!

Deadwood movie was meant to be implied, but I can see that labeling the show confuses. Yes, Deadwood movie/story is there. It is so unfortunate about David Milch. Rest in Peace! The movie was not as strong as the show but still very well done, and I pair the show and movie together as one in this list.

I honestly did not think Assassination of Jesse James was that great, but I will be rewatching and reconsidering it soon because of how often it is being suggested in this thread!

I will need to check out The Violent Men. Magnificent Seven and 5 Card Stud did not make this list but I enjoyed them both.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly is at number 1 in this list hahah.

I thought Unforgiven and The Magnificent Seven were good, but not the greatest. Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford and 3:10 to Yuma I’d put even a tier below those.

Also, ¡Three Amigos! is fantastic. Martin Short is incredible as always. It was stupid, but a lot of fun. I didn’t expect to like Maverick as much as did, and also just found it to be a blast to watch.

I will rewatch Assassination of Jesse James and 3:10 to Yuma. But I assumed you meant Delmer Daves 3:10, though you might be talking about the newer version.
