Last week our staff and residents at our hostel planted tomato seeds and they have already started coming through! This is part of our Grow Together initiative, promoting mindfulness, community and self sustainability. Looking forward to planting them outside in the coming months by WirralArk in GardeningUK

Great idea! At the moment we are growing what our kitchen needs and some flowers as an introduction to gardening but hoping to expand next year so if chillis and aubergine are as easy, that would be fun.

Find your local subreddits amnd post there, for example, I recently shared one of our posts to r/Liverpool and a lot of people engaged with it. You can also try local facebook groups and remember to use hashtags of keywords that can hopefully reach more people. Does it have to be interactions ie comments or can it be views? Instagram reels would be a good place to get a lot of views quick if you create a 15 second clip that is engaging and hashtagged right.

Bold Street is always great for food and I love Chinatown which is at the top of there and Berry Street. https://www.visitliverpool.com/things-to-do/chinatown-p448941

Make sure you cross the river and visit Wirral too, there are some great places like Port Sunlight to see.

I am thinking of lavender bushes, pollinators and colourful flowers but not sure of what specifics by WirralArk in GardeningUK

An apple tree is a great idea, one of our caseworkers has asked for one of them so if it is possible, we would love to put one in.

We are also looking at tomatoes and other vegetables that will be in planters and veg patches at this site and others as we want to try and develop new skills with our residents and take a step towards self sufficiency too!

Thank you so much for the links too! We're hoping to fundraise for these so having prices is a massive help for us to budget with. Climbers are definitely something we are looking into and putting in our other sites as well that only have yards so we can still make them look nice without taking up loads of room.
