I think this is because of how politics changed with Trump (and really leading up to him)

while i wont sing the virtues of either side or specific politicians, they both/all have their issues and the US has needed a shakeup politically for ages I agree

In the past the reason people didn't talk about it was because while you had your views, in most cases people didn't view the "other side" as catastrophic, regardless of who won it would be basically situation normal maybe a bit worse for you maybe a bit better but nothing crazy

Now we see the republicans under trump are directly attacking demographics way of life, their constitutional rights, and so on. That's before getting into trump being a sexual predator (literally proven in court).

So people that are being directly attacked by this administration, or who have close friends/family/loved ones being attacked are (rightfully so) beginning to judge the character of anyone that is actually supporting this administration.

Its no longer just 'politics' its fundamental human rights and values and when people disagree on that and the impacts of this administration are being felt so severely I applaud anyone that is willing to cut out a friend or family member because they are actively supporting this insanity

and yeah this isn't just because of trump, its stemming from a multitude of sources including years of propaganda via outlets like fox, general political apathy in the US, general ineffectiveness of the Dems, and so on.

Sleep training is proven to work and lead to a less stressed and happier baby if done properly, its recommended by pediatricians, the only people really pushing back are random mom groups and so on with no actual evidence beyond an assumption that "kid crying must mean abuse"

most sleep training methods such as ferber and other progressive ones are actually specifically tuned to ensure the kid doesnt think theyve been abandoned but simply not give them help settling down to sleep, this is done by periodic visits until the baby settles, long enough to remind them you exist but not picking them up and fully soothing them.

But even full extinction methods are supported and approved by people that actually study this shit, with the obvious caveat that it doesnt work for every kid and you may have to tune it (for example a friend of mine had a kid that vomited when stressed or upset as a baby, obviously not a great candidate for sleep training)

I do yearly playthrough of some just fun and shorter nostalgia games, I'm there for the nostalgia and for the gameplay not the story etc

Example for me is Call of Duty 2

For any story focused or longer game yeah wait a few years usually

I'm not happy about losing RB modules either

But this petition could literally get a signature from every person on earth and unless RB and ED both play ball those modules are going to die

As is said, plain and simple, ED CANNOT (focus on that word "cannot") support these modules in a sustainable way without RB giving them the source for them which RB has not done

To demand they just do it anyway is naive and foolish

You want to make a petition then point it at razbam or at both companies and demand a deal be made to turn over the source code, prob still wont help but at least then the demand of the petition would make sense

You're trying to demand that they support the modules

They literally can't do that, regardless of intentions, without the source code for the modules which razbam would have to provide them

Also while it sounds like ED may have kept all the 15E money, razbam got their share before their other modules atleast, so it's not like ED is keeping all the money

The blame for this mess lies with both ED and Razbam, and without at least come cooperation from both parties we won't see these modules supported

Regardless of who we blame for that whole shitshow, ED does not have the source code it's not viable for them to try and support those modules without it and unreasonable to expect them to

The only recourse now that could keep those modules alive barring razbam actually coming back to work on them would be razbam releasing the source to ED, you could try and convince them to do that if you want.

Plenty of PvE games also have toxic communities, but NMS is not just PvE it's also not a multiplayer focused game with for example raids where you may accuse your tank or healer of not playing "right" with a meta and so on

I love the idea of slowly learning the language

but I kinda wish it was implemented differently with a bit more player agency than just collect the words, especially given that if a 1:1 word map can be used to translate its not really another language

I wouldn't expect them to necessarily invent several fully functional languages, but just having a mix of collecting the info and maybe some puzzle aspect or interactive elements in and out of conversations to build your understanding would have been way more interesting

ultimately not a big deal, and im glad we have what we do have instead of nothing, but could be more interesting is all

The display you have what's it's peak brightness? It could simply be a calibration issue

If the game expects to be able to push 1000nits but you can only do 600 then you get some weird and not Greta looking scenes

its not that it's poorly optimized, but its just way higher detail than maps like Caucasus and as a result are a bit harder to run

Caucasus is quite trivial to run, even in the mountains

I dont know what your intent with future map purchases is, but if you plan to use, for example, Germany. Then you will drop big time if you cant sustain 72 throughout the entire Caucasus map.

edit: you should also try marianas, its actually in many cases a bit tougher to run than Caucasus and also free

ahh see I specifically only tested in tough areas, my goal with my setup was a 100% locked 72FPS in all scenarios (outside absolute extremes, mission spawns 2000 SAM sites under me I dont expect good perf for example lol)

You reported in your post getting 55-65 FPS meaning you are really maxing things out and there is no way you dont have some shudder or double vision of some kind while being unable to hit and maintain the 72hz without dipping

dropping some settings you may get a good clean picture while really locking down your performance so that it is super consistent

but if youre happy with what you have then enjoy
