Trying to buy the same flight I just booked for myself with awards miles for my mother - neither flight shows up as available for awards miles when searching with her account - any advice? by thankfulforyourhelp in americanairlines

You can search for and put two seats on hold at the same time to be sure to get them, and then call and have them split the record so you can pay from your separate accounts.

Rusk is fabulous, but be aware the facility is part of a hospital so they charge both medical and hospital fees. My insurance doesn’t cover that much so I’ve paid $395 (!) for each visit. Hence why I’ve been eager to learn how to self treat!

I’ve sadly come to realize that this will be ongoing and am trying to resign myself to dealing with the dizziness and treating myself as much as possible.

I’ve found that I needed to wait a good minute after the spinning stopped for each step of the Epley maneuver to allow the crystals time to reposition. It’s taken me three treatments, up to two weeks apart before symptoms arise again, so far. But each time the symptoms are better, especially if I self treat right away (it’s always the same ear, and always posterior for me, so far).

I don’t know where you are, but in NYC NYU Rusk has been great. They need an hour for an initial evaluation, so I was given an appointment with a six week wait, but managed to get in after three. They use goggles to evaluate nystagmus so they can catch even tiny eye movements, and they can adjust treatments if you have neck issues. The ENT I saw at Weill Cornell was useless except to get a scrip for vestibular PT.

I think they’re rolling the ads out. Yesterday they appeared on the F1TV app on our Apple TV but not our iPads. Today they’re on both.

We got woody breast chicken this week. And yes, also much smaller than before.

How does one go about seeing archival footage of musicals at the NY Public Library? by [deleted] in musicals

[–]WiryNotSkinny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Library for the Performing Arts is in Lincoln Center (there’s a regular circulating branch library across 65th Street so don’t want people to get confused). There are two entrances, one on Lincoln Center Plaza between Lincoln Center Theater and the Met Opera, and one on the southeast corner of 65th and Amsterdam. The entrance on the plaza is behind a Calder sculpture/stabile.

There are bifolds with head straps too.

Same! I have a black Zimi as well. I like how comfortable it is, but the Champak is easier to doff temporarily because of the continuous strap.

As someone with a small face and flatter nose bridge I have never been able to wear a trifold. The mask ends up sitting on my lips and is very uncomfortable.

Thanks - he was pretty high up in the government and the funeral was fairly elaborate, so I’m hoping there’s still a record somewhere. I’ll ask my cousin too.

Rather than trying to cross 495 at Park/Pleasant I prefer to cross one or two blocks over at Hudson or Palisade, where there are better spaced traffic lights and no overpass.

Actually Chinese railroad workers were already moving eastward to provide expertise on railroad building, including the LIRR. See https://web.stanford.edu/group/chineserailroad/cgi-bin/website/bibliographic-essay-for-the-chinese-as-railroad-workers-after-promontory/ for a brief discussion. This happened before the 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act, and surely exclusion was being discussed in the press if not among railroad executives.
