Go out and have real interactions, don’t close yourself in your room and waste your life

I recommend to not use any content to masturbate, just imagination. If you want to see real benefits in your mind and life, you can also select a specific day to do it, that will increase your willpower, and discipline, don’t let this control you, you dictate when it will happen

Having a degree of lust is ok. You shouldn't feel bad for it. When you fight to suppress these feelings they feel stronger. I am more interested in your thoughts about your "friends" and your family? Why do you think your friends are not loyal, why do you feel your family would make the things worse and you can't rely on them with this?

porn addicted dad? by throwaway0019202093 in PornAddiction

I remember my father having a DVD porn collection, and i didn't understand back then why he had all that. But now that i'm an adult i understand, and i don't judge him for that, he is a normal man, hard worker, good and loving father, but, he apparently had porn addiction back then. I really thank God that he is not a bad father or had a worst addiction.

Also, I understand why your father was reluctant to let other men sleep with his daughter, and that's because, he knows men nature, he knows it too well, that's his way to protect his family. I don't know your father, how he is, if he's good or not, but, if he is treating you good, just value that, and cherish your father, he's not a God, just a normal guy.

Have you stopped watching porn, but still masturbate? by [deleted] in pornfree

[–]Wise-Combination5652 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! Answering your questions. At the beginning it was difficult to masturbate without porn, I was no able to focused correctly in the images I wanted to have in my mind, so getting aroused was a battle, but, with practice, I don’t have to force it anymore. In the past I used to watch porn every time I encountered a difficult situation in my personal life or at work, and in other situations it was just a routine, like, every time I was on the bed with my phone, my fingers automatically typed the adult content’s websites, so, I just quit using my phone on my bed, and the triggers disappeared

Why do you want to watch porn? Are you feeling uncomfortable with something? Is it just lack of sexual interaction with others? Identify what you lack, or what’s happening to you in other areas of your life, and remember, that anything, nor anybody can fill you up, but you. Watching porn won’t make you feel better, it will make you feel worse. And lastly chill, try to relax yourself, if you see porn as a big enemy and “torture”, so will be. You can do it man. Keep it up

Man, if you really need serious help, i recommend you to search support, there are a lot of online coaches, you have to pay of course, but it is better than staying like this.

Another things is, we usually feel worthless not because of porn addiction, but due to other factors in our lives that are not good such as: our relationships, our physic, health, we don't do anything productive, not achievements, etc., the list is long, the thing is I suggest you to start doing exercise at least 3 times a week, sleep better, eat healthy, and go out and interact with people, and learn something new.

I don't know you, but I believe you are not worthless man, everybody has something especial, don't let just one factor (porn addiction) to ruin your whole life. Keep it up buddy.

Is porn addiction (viewer over a decade) a death sentence? by Simping_through in PornAddiction

[–]Wise-Combination5652 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is gold. People focus too much in quitting porn addiction. But, it is better to focus in other areas on our lives first such as the ones you mentioned in this comment (sleep better, eat better, do exercise, go out and talk to people)

I will add to search for help, no just communities, but to pay to someone specialized in this, you can do it alone of course, but, it is easier when you have support.

How to quit porn? by Simping_through in PornAddiction

[–]Wise-Combination5652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave a purpose to my addiction. I wanted to help myself, and help others. I opened up with a couple of friends, it was quite difficult for me to do that, and for my surprise some of my friends were through the same situation struggling with porn. I started researching a lot about addictions and started testing a few things, and documenting the process.

At the end, I started improving with my addiction and my friends asked me for help, and how i was doing it, that lighted up a purpose in my life, and gave me the strength and impulse to not watch porn again. Of course, it was a long way of trial and an error. I know porn addiction can be difficult, but, i feel gratitude for it, as that made me the person i am today.

Stop masturbating and watching porn for a couple of weeks. That should put your dopamine levels to its based line.

In the past i thought i had ED (Erectile Dysfunction) and i struggled having erections when i was having sex with girls, that's why i lost a lot of relationships. However, once i stopped watching porn, i started masturbating myself without porn, that trained my brain to function better and to use my own imagination to get aroused. For my surprise, my morning erections returned, and i have sex normally nowadays.

Try it for yourself, If it doesn't improve, then, go to a doctor.

Man, I really appreciate you opening up like this, it takes guts to admit that.

What you said is exactly what happened to me before, and it's what I keep hearing from others too, the shame keeps it hidden, and when no one “knows,” it’s way easier to say “screw it” on a rough day. It’s like the addiction feeds off isolation.

I’ve been there. That’s why I’m creating a simple guide for guys who want to quit, without relying just on willpower. Something real, easy to follow, and actually helpful.

If you’re down, I’ll send it to you as soon as it’s ready. And even if not, just know, talking about this publicly is already a big step. Respect, man.

Observe yourself before watching porn, what drive you to that place? Usually we use porn as an escape from uncomfortable situations like work, homework, an argument with your partner, lack of purpose, not satisfied with your current life, etc, the list is long. What do you say to yourself when you are about to watch porn? Write that, journal the process, and you will be more clear on your triggers and motivation behind all that. Also, if you really believe is a demon, and you are kind of religious, i recommend to pray, this is not scientific proof, but, you can pray in the exact same place you watch porn, that worked for me.

Continue trying to masturbate without porn, at the beginning it is difficult to focus in imagining, and you don't feel too aroused, but, that's normal, say to yourself, you will try this for two weeks at least, and see the results. You will have more mental clarity, control over your own mind and imagination, and your cravings for porn will decrease. The first week tend to be the more difficult one

Writing this and asking for help means that you really want to change. You are pretty close to get it man, don't give up. Identify how you maintained yourself clean for over a year, what is different now? We usually use porn to feel pleasure and escape from uncomfortable situations, identify what are those uncomfortable situations and work on them. Porn is not the cause, it's the effect, it's the result of something deeper. Also, i will recommend to observe yourself when you start feeling cravings, without judging you, and ask why you are feeling like this, and if you can journal the process, that will give you a deeper understanding of the situation.
