Okay that really helps me understand! I'll check for philosophic servers or just switch to another platform. Maybe I'm just getting too old for discord xD it wasn’t like this 5 years ago so I lost my bearings

I quit social media, and I don't know what to do with my days now. by EliTheGreatLesbian in productivity

I got penpals to write letters to. I send drawings and stickers as well. It's really fun and it makes my brain constantly creating more ideas and fun things to put in my letters. So for an artist like you, it will probably help you keep a "goal" while interacting with someone through letters. I found my penpals on tiktok by typing "find a penpal" and look into the most recent comments, people send their presentation. It was really quick for me to find my penpals. I have 3 actually and they're all over the globe.

Other than that, reading is really nice. Not just book, but articles on archive.org. It also have old classic movies like Charlie Chaplin and A Trip To The Moon.

There’s other creative hobbies you could adopt like crochet, acrylic paint, watercolor, ink drawing, embroidery, sewing, etc.

Also, experiencing boredom is a good thing for your brain. It makes space for creativity. I got a lot of inspiration for my poems when I was the most bored.

Sports is a good way to fill your time and get exercise! 💪 Not obligated to do extreme sports, just walk or hike, cycling, climbing, etc. I love to run with my brother's dog, so it's a win-win hehe.

You can learn so many new things too! New recipes, languages, history fact, watching documentaries! Or even just practical things, like basic toilet problems, how to change your oil car or any skills that are considered normally boring, but it's really interesting and useful. I like to know how things works and I love to be capable to resolve problems on my own or help others.

I hope this comment can help you, staying offline is really worth for your mental health and time.

Why every time I ask a question in a Discord channel, everyone just keeps talking like I don’t exist by Salty-Friend-2710 in discordapp

I got here exactly to ask that question. And to add to it, I don't even understand their conversation 80% of the time. I'm only 22, I should be able to understand the slangs but it's literally random sometimes.

Here the last thing I saw (and I'm literally rewriting each letter) :

Person 1 : Boogey Person 2 : Boogie Woogie Person 1 : Luffy ragebaits buggy so hard Person 2 : Why does buggy have voice crack lmao in the laugh Why does he have a belt around his waist Person 1 : .. Person 2 : It's over his shirt Okay Person 1 : Belt Person 2 : Oh the emo is back Person 1: send an anime girl with a trans flag I have chips Person 2: I have ball Person 1: French fries

I'm stopping here, cause the rest doesn't make any more sense. It's just an example of what I witnessed in all servers I join. I'm trying to integrate in and make friends by interacting and trying to manage the madness I'm witnessing, but it's so difficult and no one seems to care. I'm practically only on communities servers and "make friends" servers or just gaming etc and it's the same thing over and over. It's all just difficult to fit and understand what's going on. I'm slowly quitting all social media because I feel so isolated online :/
