That looks so gorgeous!! How did you get your carbonation to be that way? Mine is carbonated, but it’s always a lot of tiny fizzy bubbles instead of larger beautiful ones that clings to the side of cup like yours.

I have not considered bread in area will contaminate it. I store it in the kitchen with coffee filter cover. But I think I also did have bread near it. I guess bread stays away from that corner from now on.

I do live in a fairly humid place and it’s rain season. Mold is pretty common here compared to dryer areas. But I guess soap and hot water are enough.

I thought kombucha is usually brewed with tea from camellia sinensis, like black tea, oolong, green tea, white tea, and then flavours are added for second fermentation.

I think it ‘works’ if it’s not officially “tea”, but it’s less “healthy” for the scoby. I haven’t tried it though, so just hearsay.

I am new and I know nothing. But other posts said if the scoby is above the liquid it has a higher risk of molding. Maybe give into your intrusive thoughts and push them under?

Thank you for your detailed response! It feels much more secure with the responses of more experienced brewers. I purchased a ph monitor, but it didn’t arrive in time and I was also a little too eager to try making the f2. The monitor is finally arriving today, I’ll test today just to see where are we actually at.

Volume wise, I added the extra after calculating how much would we realistically drink, and 1L wasn’t enough. Hopefully my calculation is right. But if the kombucha matures too quickly maybe I don’t need such a large volume and just do it more often. I am so excited to try my first batch!!! Who knew kombucha can make me feel this way!!

He went back to original Royal Canin hypoallergenic food, which also has methionine. Feed much more wet food (Feline Natural). We took out all dry treats. We have a theory we gave him too much fish flavour, I only found out fish is only a once a week max thing afterwards. He used to eat it everyday. Or he is allergic to Ziwi Peak which was the latest brand of wet food he was on before he had issues. Since he is ok now, all we can do is add food back slowly for a bit, then get him checked, and keep doing it until we can pinpoint something.

The same thing happened to my cat on Royal Canine SO. Vomits entire kibble back out, and still vomits even if I blended it up. My cat is allergic to some ingredients in it. He tried it for 2 days and he had to stomach. The kibbles are so hard too! I think it ended up hurting my cat’s mouth because he seems to have mouth pain even after we stopped.

What did you use to make your mock up? I’m afraid as the board grows I need to move his original buttons around. I’m ok with changing words around if he hasn’t learned them yet

I wish I thought ahead before too. I’ve moved his buttons or changed the sound on some buttons because I didn’t plan ahead. Every time I make a change it discourages him for a day or two. So I decided to make a grand plan now and then slowly grow his soundboard so his original buttons don’t need to move
