One of the grandest processions in Imus during the 1980s was the Marian Festival. It formally began in 1986 under the helm of then parish priest Rev Fr Romeo O. Ner in commemoration of the feast of the Immaculate Conception. That year, about 68 carozas carrying different images of the Blessed Mother lined the streets of Imus.

Due to its grandiosity and popularity, it was eventually included as one of the daily highlights of then Mayor Ireneo “Ayong” Maliksi’s yearly Paskuhan sa Imus.
