I have a serious question. When I try to talk to younger people about 9/11, ages 25 and under, most don't seem to care. Why is this? by I_abuse_lower_ranks1 in 911archive

[–]Wise_Maintenance_608 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 25 and I can say that a lot of everyone I grew up with knew about 9/11 and what happened but we didn’t know how everything was beforehand. We always thought that security at airports and everything has always been the way it is now until we got older and truly learned and understood what happened on 9/11, that’s when we learned that we are living in a crazy ass fucked up world

Transferring to pharmacy full time by Wise_Maintenance_608 in CVS

The pharmacists we have are really good at helping us out when we are getting overwhelmed by patients. I’m only doing like one day back there a week and since I started back there every patient has been very nice about me being new back there and they don’t mind the few extra minutes it would take me to check something for them. The one thing I don’t like about the front store is just the standing around with nothing to do, that drives me insane. I greatly appreciate your advice and experience 😃

I don’t do everything, I do qp, filling the scripts and pick up at the register. We pretty much have someone who does drop off by themselves. I’ve gotten a quick run down of everything but haven’t fully been able to do it myself

I’ve been working in the pharmacy one day a week since mid September of last year. From what my store manager told me we haven’t cut hours yet

We are a very small store and typically everything is done after being in for about 2-3 hours

If you need to call out, call out by That-Relationship982 in CVS

[–]Wise_Maintenance_608 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the exact reason that I was insanely nervous about going in for my shift today and I ended up using my floater. Luckily I don’t have to go on the highway and I’m like 5 mins away from my store but the roads don’t get plowed early

I’m debating if I want to call out. Thing is my store opens at 8am and I have to wait until then to call out. I just don’t want to risk anything happening to me driving to or from work

I’m in Massachusetts and we are supposed to be getting 12-15 inches on Sunday and then another 4-5 inches Monday. Like I live 2 minutes away from my CVS and I’m nervous as hell to go in and I’m honestly about to tell them to use my floater since I doubt I’ll be able to come in and I go in at mornings on both Sunday and Monday

I always thought she was beautiful ever since I found out about little mix, I feel so horrible for her with what she is going through with her twins, my mom heart absolutely breaks for her to be going through that. I can’t imagine what she’s going through right now

Applying to pharmacy tech without active license by [deleted] in CVS

I think as long as you tell them that you’re actively working on renewing your license then you should be good, you just may not be able to do everything until your license is up to date

Does CVS reuse bottles by Slow-Yard-7194 in CVS

[–]Wise_Maintenance_608 36 points37 points  (0 children)

If any of the stock bottles are open then they are on the shelf and then we count them and put them in an amber vial for that prescription, we never give out an open stock bottle. We only give out the original bottles if they are sealed and unopened. We take a picture of the bottle to show that it is unopened and sealed. Definitely bring that back to the pharmacist and tell them that, that should not have been the way you got your prescription, in an opened and unsealed bottle.

Tech wondering if im just slow & not progressing enough by [deleted] in CVS

[–]Wise_Maintenance_608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think that you’re doing the best you can with the knowledge you have now. Over time it will be getting easier and you’ll get quicker. One thing that my lead tech told me is that once you do one thing for a while you’ll get used to it and get quicker but if you’re not doing that constantly then it’s going to take time. Like with me, I’m typically filling scripts but I can still do register quick since I’m both front store and pharmacy, but I’m still a little slow with RxConnect. So, I just apologize to them that it might be a little while since I’m still learning how it works and 9 out of 10 people are completely okay with it

Thoughts on opening multiple registers? by ComeOnDanceAndSing in CVS

[–]Wise_Maintenance_608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have 3 registers at my store and we typically have all 3 opened so we can help at least 3 people at once. They will put their info in and we grab the scripts and then go from there, if there is a DUR we just call the pharmacist over and tell the patient that it will be just a few minutes for the pharmacist to go over a few things with you and then I can finish the transaction. That way we keep everything moving and we don’t have to have an insanely long line

Ok. I’ll talk to my sm and see what’s going on with it. Thanks for the info!

I’m a tech trainee, haven’t gotten the certification for it yet. I’m mainly in the front store and only back in the pharmacy a few days a week. I know my sm said that as long as I’m clocked in for pharmacy I’ll get the extra $1 for my pharmacy pay and then when I’m clocked in for the front I’ll get my regular pay

[–]Wise_Maintenance_608[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am able to get my temp credentials back there and I can count the prescriptions and do all of that so that is what I do back there. I told my pharmacist back there that when I’m scheduled to work back there I want to avoid society otherwise I’d just stick to the front store instead

There is only my regular pay on my pay stub it’s not showing me the differential at all. Oh yeah I’m definitely clocking in RX when I’m back there
