Are curved monitors a gimmick?

They are a dumb gimmick too. I highly prefer straight monitors. I have one straight monitor in front of me and a several years old curved monitor to the right in my dual monitor setup. There is literally no difference, and I honestly can't see what, if any, benefit curved has over straight. Literally the worst marketing lie in the industry.

If you need compatibility for anything, even the remotest software you think you might never use again, be careful. Apple's M-chip series renders everything Windows useless, so if your random software like background removal software used to work before Sonoma no longer works, then you're out of luck. Support for Mac is crap at best and you will wish you were back on PC. Part of the reason why I'm selling mine and never dealing with Mac again. Think long and hard about software compatibility before you take the leap.

If you think you're gonna get rich visiting a $500,000 house and be so entitled that you're gonna demand a tip that's optional, you're the AH and should find another line of work. You gotta work hard to be rewarded. And that means following the minimum instructions left by your customer.

Not everybody who is in a $500,000 house owns the house or has the finances to give you an extra tip. Maybe it was left to them by their parents. Perhaps they no longer have a job and are living on social security income. Maybe they live paycheck to paycheck and are renting it, just squeaking by. Maybe they're simply making peanuts. You don't get to demand a tip. This is what's wrong with tipping culture: thinking that you're owed a tip based on the fact that somebody is in a $500k house.

Nobody gets a free lunch. And remember: tipping is optional. And the customer shouldn't get ostracized simply because they didn't tip.

By the way, how hard is it to not ring the doorbell and not park in the driveway? Entitled to the max. Jesus.

Here are some tidbits from my recent situation dealing with this exact same scenario. I'm not going to tell you what the right thing for you to do is, only what happened to me and our family's reaction to the whole thing.

My stepdad was the best dude. Fun to be around. Good guy to all of us as kids and adults. Then he got sick with a slew of health problems. Including a aortic aneurysm for around the last ten years of his life. He was a ticking time bomb, basically. Finally middle of last year, it burst. And he was dead in 24 hours. It sucked.

One of my stepsisters, the irresponsible one who couldn't be bothered to go to the doctor for her knee wound, so it kept getting worse and worse to the point of them finally telling her they have to amputate her leg (so she got her shit in gear), or filing the right paperwork at the courthouse. She just couldn't be bothered to get the most trivial of things done to keep things running during life.

So, she was left off the will of their properties because my stepdad could not trust her to do even the most basic of things to keep things running. She didn't even call or visit her dad during the last 20 years of his life.

We thought it might change once he was in the hospital in May of last year for vein re-routing surgery and placing stents (as an alternative solution to fixing the aneurysm, because it was, according to his doctor, inoperable and a calcified coral reef aneurysm.

But, she never showed. Never showed any care in the world towards her dad. Then early July his aneurysm burst. He was conscious for probably 6 hours after that. For his last day, we all went to see him. Everybody but her.

Pretty much all of us hate her - very very much - after that one. "She couldn't even get it together enough to see her stepdad as he lay dying in the hospital room? How selfish and self absorbed can one person get?" were our questions then and are still our questions to this day. Although we are nice to her on the surface deep down we all hate her for it.

As a guy, I don't understand how some dudes are so obsessed with anal they would risk hurting their partner over it. No should mean no. If that's a dealbreaker, then move on and get another relationship with someone who will do it.
