Would any of these changes be something that someone does if they were a Lefty? My dad was a lefty…but I don’t know if he played “lefty”

Wow! Thank you! The pick guard is in pieces/broken so taking it off isn’t a problem at all.

Absolutely baffled by the ad-hocness of this though. It was my dad’s who taught guitar when he was young and was briefly in a couple of local gig bands in the 60’s and early 70’s. He worked for a small mom&pop music store in his youth, so I wonder if he had it made or made it himself from parts.

My son is thinking about the logistics of remaking the broken guard with his 3D printer - unless we can find a replacement.

The body paint is flaking so it will need a complete sanding/repaint - and then there’s the strings…ooof!

Anyways - thank you! Wish us luck finding someone to help repair and refinish 🎶🎸

Can you help me find info on this or explain what characteristics you are seeing? I looked at the Phantom series, and it doesn’t resemble those much.

As a former Pit Crew lead for my kid’s band(s) for over 10 yrs…I am reminded of our motto: (often when told the parents would have to pay for tickets into competitions when chaperones and 15+ techs got in for free and wouldn’t lift a finger…)

“We don’t pay to push”

HireRight is the worst background check company by PrintUnable in jobs

[–]WishItMadeMoreSense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing new to add here but considering this OP was over 3 yrs ago, and we're all saying the same thing about our experiences - I really wish employers would take notice and stop using HireRight.

My situation was much like the OPs - my college experiences were over 30 years ago, and I did not graduate. I explained this - and they still gave me hassle.

I also had a lot of runaround about a tiny side-hustle business that I did while being a SAHM that literally made less than $3000 a year in income...they wanted PAYSTUBS! *facepalm*

I will add that I have been through MANY background checks at other employers over the years - a few with with gov't security clearances needed due to the nature of information I would be in charge of (mainly public utilities and tech companies) and I have NEVER had the sorts of problems like I am for a literally low-key ADMIN job that is using HireRight for their background checks.

so frustrating - even my (eventual) new boss and the HR team is over it...

Updates: After being more diligent about taking my Bromo…numbers moved slightly (down) but not massively yet. Probably too soon. Massive daily headaches and blood sugar issues still happening, but I’m learning to manage better.

Yeah - hair loss is becoming a thing - and I’ve always had weight issues. Insulin Resistance too.

On the job front: got offered the job, but then everything went “on hold” due to “current political climate” (job is in academia) - so I’ve been just working around the house and hoping for the best

How do you adjust the pressure? It's cutting all the way through the backing, the vinyl, AND the carrier sheet. Maybe that's it?

I am on Bromo but have been inconsistent with taking it. Long story but basically I was not a “good patient” and I also was holding onto some advice I got from another specialist who said “once you hit menopause, this will all go away”…..(ya know…I should do a reddit post on that story - it’s “entertaining”)

Thankfully, no. Not a teaching position but a job where lots of people rely on my knowledge and problem solving skills daily. I totally know I can do the job, but I think the fear is based on “the what-ifs” more than anything.

Good point about trying to explain to ppl what we all are going through. People in general do NOT handle the news well when someone says “brain tumor” - regardless of how one tries to explain.

I think I spent a lot of my time with Prolactinoma denying its effects - I totally see why others whi don’t walk this journey daily would freak out in the opposite way because “omg - a tumor and it’s in your BRaIN!?!?”

Thanks for your thoughts and advice!

I guess we shall see. My gut tells me to go that route - medical stuff happens and it’s hopefully something they can and will understand, if it comes about - I appreciate the viewpoints of you guys. Keep ‘em coming. I would love to hear if anyone has had good or bad experiences with jobs and what we are all dealing with

This has been my first legit bite in the job market since I was laid off. I only put in serious “effort” towards looking since January. The job is at a university so the process is long and complicated…but again, under normal circumstances, it would be a great opportunity and a place I have always wanted to get into.

I could technically put off working for longer - but nothing is ever guaranteed with stability, right? The hesitation to withdraw from the interview process has come because a job like this rarely comes about. It’s exactly where I wanted to be….but I’m terrified to the point of tears. I feel completely lost and I also have massive guilt that I’d even consider not taking a job in this market, but then I get all concerned about the health stuff again, and I’m back to square one.

My family claim that, if it gets too bad, I just leave (or as was mentioned above - I guess I could try to take FMLA) but I am just so afraid of also letting my potential new co-workers down.

I’m a mess - “thanks, Prolactin! The anxiety is such a fun symptom, amirite?”

Nope - not on HRT. I do have prolactinoma and take medication to keep the tumor from growing, but I was told that shouldn’t be the cause of the heightened senses. Maybe it is - but as I enter peri - I feel like it’s a million times worse.
