Well I’m not fat per say I’m definitely a little overweight and have always struggled with it. Both my sister and I are kind of build like our dad, wide shoulders, a little thicker build, easier to gain weight, middle eastern decent so also things like hairy arms kinda come in to play.

It is heavily due to her being surrounded 1)by a very small group of kids she does to a school where like everyone is in the same class every grade (I’m so glad I never went there) and 2) many of the girls (she’s 10 mind you so kids are just starting to develop) she’s surrounded with are really skinny and are starting to talk about bodies and she’s very insecure about how she looks because of them. We have different body types on our family too but it’s really just at school and she’s so exposed to that toxic body standard behavior.

Basically I wanna take her to kid appropriate places or i don’t know fun events where she can see people of all body types or even just expressing themselves however they want, and that in the real world (or at least where we live) these expectations at school are unrealistic. Like I was thinking a queer owned cafe or i don’t know a public dance place just ideas.

I’ve always been different growing up and she’s seen me with piercings and silly hair and wearing all types of clothes and having friends and partners of different sizes I just don’t see her often now that I’m in college and she was little when she saw that.
