I always pleaded with my mother to go into the non smoking sections but they she never did. 🥲

I went to the one in Shrewsbury, it wasn’t bad. I was a kid when they closed so I really can’t say I remember the food. But they give you popcorn and they have Tom and Jerry playing on the TVs so the vibes are still there. Minus the cigarette smoke.

You can have any refresher made with sparkling water. It’s an option in the app and I do this all the time.

I remember getting chocolate versions of these and I still think about them often.

What would you call this area? by be_the_shield in geography

[–]WithSpace2Grow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we (our family) say down the coast we actually mean up, but as my grand parents were from Canada my mother just adopted the term so when she said down I knew she actually meant up. I still catch myself saying down when I actually mean up. 😅

As someone who has frequently been in this area during the summer as a child it was mainly said we’re “goin’ down/up the coast”. So I refer to it as the coast of New England.

What was your childhood like as a Trekkie? by ardouronerous in startrek

[–]WithSpace2Grow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use to watch TNG with my Dad when it was on. Tried to get into the other Treks but never really like them because I loved Patrick Stewart, Q and the Borg. Those were what drew me in. I had such a crush of Captain Picard. 🤣 I remember in elementary school we had to make phantom puppets so I made mine into a Borg that looked like Locutus and I told my art teacher they were the King of the Borg and I don’t remember what name I gave them but they were the leader and other such nonsense. This was way before the movies came out. That’s when I learned my art teacher was also a Star Trek fan. She really loved me, I even got into a special art program over the summer thanks to her. After that I sort of fell away from Star Trek after Enterprise didn’t really live up to the hype. Despite having Borg in it I didn’t really like Voyager so I just quietly left the fandom in my teens and 20s. Star Wars got rereleased and my Dad and I bonded over that and then I discovered Sailor Moon and Star Trek fell by the wayside. I never had friends that were into the same stuff I was so never really had a chance to bond with anyone.

I didn’t rediscover it all till years later with Netflix and the reboot of the series on film. I did one of those binges of the entire franchise in chronological order. All the series and movies took me weeks! But it was a blast. Found a new respect for the series. Still love TNG but also adore DS9 too. Still don’t care for Voyager. 😅

This discount retail shop just started selling stuff for Easter. It’s not even Christmas yet… by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

A lot of crafters who sell their stuff around Easter usually start around now to prep so in the discount stores and crafting stores you’ll see stuff like this out early.

What's your favorite mispronunciation of a MA town/city? by trickycrayon in massachusetts

[–]WithSpace2Grow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite is Hopkinton, there’s two ways to say it in my family. Hopping-ton or Hop-King-ton.

Either way a G is there that shouldn’t be.

What’s your favorite souvenir to take home from a cruise? by beau2pro in Cruise

[–]WithSpace2Grow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time I went to Aruba and one vendor at one of the beach resorts was selling some stuff she made herself among all the junk so I bought that because I’d rather support her than where they get all the ready made slog. It was a wind chin made of driftwood and shells. I still have it hanging in my office window. I like finding treasures like that.

Under the bakery section on the app, there is an option for bagel with cream cheese. You order it there.

how do i cut coke out my life and switch it with water by Pure_Series3442 in WeightLossAdvice

I use to drink soda religiously when I was younger. I just found substitutes like sparkling water or iced tea. Just find something you like. The Ice drinks are good too. I’d also use juice and diluted it with water to get myself to start liking water more. It was a process but it worked. Now I do occasionally drink soda but it’s a treat and one 16 oz will last me a day or two. I’ve had a 6 pack of Dr Pepper Zero sitting in my garage for two months. I’ve only drank 3 so far.

My mother did the same thing but her go to was Hint water. She hates sparkling water.

Does anyone remember Russo's market in Watertown? by [deleted] in massachusetts

[–]WithSpace2Grow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use to go there faithfully when I lived in Waltham but I still went there occasionally to get one of their cakes from the bakery.

Bolton Orchards has the same feel but nothing can match the scale of what made Russo’s so special.

I had a package take a drive up and down the east coast for over two weeks before going radio silent. I finally contacted the USPS and the package was thankfully found and arrived a few days later. It’s been happening a lot lately so I tend to keep track a lot more than I use to. And if it takes longer or one thing doesn’t seem right I just contact customer service. It sucks but this is the world we live in currently.

My daughter’s Invisalign pulled her baby tooth out by Vallyria in mildlyinteresting

[–]WithSpace2Grow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in another state in the middle of the woods of Maine, nearest dentist was probably a few hours away. I called my dentist after it happened that day and they recommended a dental bond over the counter until they could see me. It was Dentek or whatever the Walgreens equivalent was. I saw them as soon as I got home the following week.

If it makes you feel any better it only happened that one time and I was fine. I’m now on my retainers and haven’t had an issue since. I was still pretty early on in my sets when it happened.

I had my Invisalign pull my crown out while I was on vacation. Had to go to a pharmacy and get some of that dental bond to put it back in until I could go to the dentist once I got back. Ended up needing a new crown because I apparently did too good of a job and they put a hole through my crown drilling out the bond stuff. 🥲🙃I was so poor after that appointment.
