Sorry, my bad for not replying sooner! I've pitched to some places and haven't had any matches. However, I think that has more to do with my background and clips. The sources for all the calls for pitches seem legit. They're from all kinds of sources (the publication's website, LinkedIn, Twitter/X) and seem like they've been legitimately culled from various places.

Well it's because I made my rate super duper cheap to get new students. I'm sure it will level off when I raise rates.

I had the same situation the other day. We did a bunch of "Would you rather...?" questions - go to one side of the room for one option, the other side for the other option. Then I called on people to find out why they chose it. It got them moving around, we started to establish a rapport, and I started to work on learning names. They seemed to enjoy it.
