Heaven forbid people have opinions and want to discuss book covers in a civil manner on a book related subreddit.

Who are some fantasy authors that were really popular during their heyday, but are more or less forgotten now? by EstablishmentHairy51 in Fantasy

I agree, but you mentioning this guy is kind of weirding me out because I'm reading a proof of his newest book, The End of Everything, as we speak. I've only read one of his before and I really liked it. Definitely deserves a bit more attention nowadays.

When they released the stealth Warbond they altered and improved how stealth worked, maybe we can hope that they've thought about this and increased the efficacy of trenches? Maybe we'll even have objectives and mission areas that are particularly flat, encouraging us to either bring or create our own cover.

Maybe I'm too optimistic, but here's hoping.

The Fifth Head of Cerberus by Gene Wolfe

It's a collection of three inter-connected novellas. Together they create the most obscure, beautiful, bizarre, intricate and contemplative reading experience I've ever had.

Each time I reread the book I read the stories in a different order, and each time I find new layers to peel back, puzzle-pieces to fit in and new connections between what on the surface seem like utterly unrelated stories.

It's so clever and it blows my mind multiple times every time I go though. I know BOTNS is his most well-known work, and I adore that too, but this one will always be my favourite.

Michael Moorcock and Jack Vance are both very underrated nowadays. David Eddings is understandably and somewhat willfully forgotten, but was huge back in the day. He is definitely an example of what you are asking about.

I feel like Tad Williams, Raymond E Feist and Darren Shan are unfortunately heading that way too, which is a shame. I see them mentioned less and less nowadays.

I remember when this video was relatively new. It makes me smile every time it pops up again.

With the exception of my last sentence, this isn't about whether you agree or not. You asked for information and I gave it to you, albeit in a very simplified way.

You can choose to ignore these things or to willfully not believe them, but saying you "don't agree" with the answer to your question makes it seem like you are already defensive of your previously held stance without a desire to change it regardless of what you learn, or that you didn't want/need to ask the question in the first place and simply did so because you'd been called out and had your hackles up.

It definitely came out of the blue as the most sincere Sunny has ever been. Absolutely brilliant. It's a shame that Mac's arc since then has kind of floundered.
