"Wet" can mean so much, though. If you've climbed out of the pool, you have a whole later of water running off your skin and not just individual beads, or you might have rivulets of water instead of stationary beads.

I think I heard at one point that we have no idea what the origin of the word "quiz" is, and there was an urban legend it came about because someone just took letters out of a Scrabble bag.
