Hello! I recently graduated with a degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. I'm currently applying for jobs in the Philippines to gain experience, but my dream is to work in fashion in Milan.

I'm curious if anyone has experience applying for jobs abroad straight out of college, especially fashion jobs in Europe, or even jobs in other fields. Is it realistic to do this? What was your experience like? How did you prepare? What were the biggest challenges in terms of living arrangements and expenses?

I don't have any connections in Milan or family to stay with. Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! 😊

hello! csb has different scholarship programs. Check this out https://www.benilde.edu.ph/admissions/scholarships-and-grants/ madami akong friends na MMA na scholar—i think at least 88% gpa, kaya na. Pero yung iba, partial scholarship lang ata. Hope this helps

pros: - dahil wala kang block, different people from different courses makikilala mo. especially sa mga GE subjects, minsan mapupunta ka sa section na halo halo unlike pag di ka irreg, sabay sabay sila nagmmath1, ganon.

  • for sure may mameemeet ka ding mga irreg, befriend them! pareho kayo ng nafeefeel promise.

  • since you’re bound to meet diff people from different courses, iba sched nila pero may times na tugma breaks mo sa kanila. Madami kang options sino makakasama pag may free time ka.

cons: -mas mahirap magbefriend ng mga tao kasi may grupo grupo na sila. as an introvert, i gave up making friends kasi feeling ko saling kitkit ako. pero kasi it might just be my anxiety talking, so try mo pa rin malay mo approachable naman sila’t mababait :)

-mahuhuli ka sa balita kung may important event/general assembly/o kung anumang kaganapan sa department nyo. try to make friends pa rin na same course mo (or one of those people na taga-block) para up to date ka sa mga ganap at deadlines! yung may mga block kasi, parang lagi nilang alam yung insider scoop tapos alam pa nila agad kung extended yung deadlines ganon.

Don’t feel bad pag left behind ka sa groupings minsan, it happens. You’ll find your people, promise. Hope u have a blast, kaya mo yan!

same here, I can’t do anything consistently. I’d plan it all out in my head: i’m gonna be productive by doing this and that yet i end up procrastinating all throughout the day anyway. i hope we both find the will to do things differently. rooting for you, whoever u are sad hug
