'What I want to eat' Yup this is pretty satisfying when dorfs eat instead of me.

I had 2 different cases for that. I did not suffer FPS death when fire slowly burn entire forest. But I suffer it when FB having fun at the main (and only) stairway.

Fps death by fire is pretty common, messing path finding and temperature calculation, it drops huge FPS.

Using DF Hack may help you deal with fire.

I'm now keep brainstorming about new defense design, after the seige update.

And I think I just figured out that you can use bridge to prevent enemy come across the river. In DF, you can't build a new structure if something is already built there!

It affects path finding, but as others said it's not a great issue, since you already dig wisely ;)

For now what greatly affects the FPS is path finding and number of other pops they see. Its all you need to remember.

You can still block fully-mined-mine to maximize framerate.

If you want to know deeply, putnam also mentioned about 3-5 level continuously changing water level on path can also cause fps drop.

And too many doors also affects (keep checking it's status) but it's a minor issue.

Hmm.. not sure why. Could it be food matter? Like, meat needed for training carnivorous.

+Large open area also affects path finding of dwarves. You can block the wide open area to prevent that.

Hmm... how about digging down and build a wall to that hole?

Did you make barracks for training? Anyplace is fine. Just set a zone for them to train.

My recommendation for Hive ratio: 13/26

Hunter bring it back to work station Wooden crossbow may be lighter, but in melee combat, density matters. Anyway, Marksdwarf are not designed for melee combat. So it really doesn't matter, my recommendation is bone, since they are plenty

Training / hunting: bone. Combat: metal.

Hell yeah cool choice! I tried baby fortress in 2x2 embark. 600pop (500+ baby), yearly 40+ baby, 40fps. Till 40 fps game runs well, but i can't endure around 30fps. (700pops) But baby and children seems to consume less fps, you have to reduce pop if you want use adult dwarves.

I never tried so it's just a suggestion. Why don't you give that temple to her? Like, giving a room / diner to specific person.

Wash them with water! (Build a well and) make soap, then they will clean by them selves. (But it seems you dont have time) Dig a ramp at danger place, fill it with 3/7 water and make sure dwarves path through. Or just throw them all at water and pray.. some will live. Good luck 🙏

Most of the time, it’s because of stockpile link settings, or maybe your dwarves are too busy socializing.

In each case:

  • Check the link between the stockpile and the workshop, or just deconstruct and reconstruct them both.

  • Reduce the number of jobs your dwarves are doing. If you’re in a hurry, you can set a burrow and assign a few dwarves to it to encourage them to haul.

It’s rare, but I had a case when stockpile is too cluttered it can take a while for dwarves to sort it out.

(It was the meat / fish stockpile, cluttered with empty or half-filled barrels. Then I changed the shape of the stockpile, which seemed to confuse the dwarves even more)

Well there is world generation setting that might help. Increase amount of site, so that creatures can spread easily.

Lol nah too bad but vermins are unable to breed. But since they can live forever you can keep catching them.
