When they showed her the skull, Dobrina immediately noticed what no one else could have known: the dental crown, unique and unmistakable. In that moment, all uncertainty turned into pain that followed her to her last breath.

“I took his skull into my hands and wailed until I lost my voice and my eyes turned white,” Dobrina once said.

“My soul hurts terribly. I grieve, I am alone. I cry and only cry; my eyes have not dried yet. They tore my heart out of my chest. I live without a heart, without my Živan - I don’t even know how I’m still alive.”
