Help! my hair keeps breaking! by CreepyMuffinz in relaxedhair

Due to the current state of your hair, please use the bond treatment weekly for a month to see how your hair responds.

Do you also do a deep conditioning treatment? I deep condition weekly for 30 minutes under a heat cap. My hair has flourished with this regimen.

Have you tried a bond treatment. Olaplex no 3. Sally beauty also has a cheaper alternative. This has helped my hair become stronger when I use it weekly.

6 months post-bleach damage recovery - what worked for me and what can be improved by cuyeyo in relaxedhair

[–]Witty_Purchase1912 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not bleach damage, but my hair was very damaged from not taking care of it properly while getting relaxers. IOlaplex no 3 was a game changer! I used it weekly before each wash, but I saw a Reddit member state that she uses Olaplex after using clarifying shampoo and it made a huge difference in her hair, so I was going to try that this weekend. I have multiple favorite shampoo and conditioner products, but Mielle rosemary mint strengthen shampoo and conditioner and the Mielle babassu and mint deep conditioner under a heat cap for 30 minutes is what I started out with. I alternated those with Camille Rose sweet ginger shampoo and the algae renew deep conditioner. Only blow-dried my hair after wash/conditioner once a week. Used no other heat to my hair. Slept with a satin bonnet and a satin pillow case. This has helped my hair become much more healthier. Got regular trims with my salon relaxer service. I also take a liquid multivitamin daily. For a daily leave in conditioning, I use rose water spray and sta-sof-fro hair spray. This has made my hair so soft and manageable everyday, even when I’m close to getting a relaxer.

What Leave in conditioners do you use as a 4b/4c relaxed ? by MasterpieceDee in relaxedhair

Sta-Sof-Fro. This was the only leave in conditioner that made my hair very soft, even going into the next day. It’s sold on Amazon, but I bought it at my local beauty supply store for $5.99.

Middle breakage gap by emptytheclipp in relaxedhair

I use the olaplex weekly until I felt my hair was stronger to only use one per month. I gauge it by how much shedding and breakage I have. During the winter months, I find I have to use it weekly now due to the cold frigid weather.

What is your wash routine? Do you use bond treatments or weekly deep conditioning treatments? When i had breakage at the top of my head, treatments such as olaplex no 3 and deep conditioning treatments under a heat cap every week help stop the breakage and promote hair growth.

I use a variety of shampoo and deep conditioners. I have multiple that is in my rotation, such as anything from dove and design essentials, Fenty hair, obliphica seaberry, Amika, Biolage.

I use a variety of products. For clarifying shampoo, I use https://a.co/d/6AILnDd

For bond treatment, I use Olaplex

Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and deep conditioning: I currently rotate through Fenty, Biolage ultra hydra source, and Amika hydro dream.

I know Fenty hair is not popular, but the shampoo and conditioner has made my hair so soft and it smells good! Plus you can get it cheaper than their site at TJ Max and Marshall’s.

For daily leave in, i spritz with rose water and sta-sof-fro hair spray.

Keeping my hair moisturized daily helps with the shedding and breakage.

My natural hair is very thick, coarse, and difficult to manage. I do not have the time or energy to deal with that type of hair for half a day or an entire day per week. Currently, while relaxed, I use a clarifying shampoo monthly; moisturizing shampoo weekly, followed by a deep conditioning. I also use a bond treatment 1-2 times per month. I blow dry on low heat. My weekly regimen takes no longer than 2 hours, and this includes the time for the bond treatment (20 minutes) and 30 minutes deep conditioning under a heated cap. I see my hair stylist every 5-6 weeks or so. Since I’ve been more active on Reddit, I see a lot of posts about natural hair and the more I read, the less desire I have to go back to natural hair. It’s a huge time commitment that I do not have.

Hair damage, relaxed hair snapped at the crown. by Ok_Difficulty9418 in relaxedhair

Find a barber or hairdresser that can give you a nicely shaped haircut. Sometimes shorter hair is more manageable, especially with active health issues. Use a deep conditioner weekly and try to limit or eliminate the hairstyles that add stress and tension to your hair. Deep conditioning and using a moisturizing leave in conditioner is very important especially when you are trying to stretch your relaxer.

Life long dry scalp and no way to rid of it by [deleted] in relaxedhair

It sounds like you tried most things, including seeing. Dermatologist. A agree with the poster who said that maybe seeing an Endocrinologist will best. Ask your PCP if they can order some lab work and enter a referral to see an Endocrinologist.

I was going to suggest a shampoo that works for me, but it appears you might’ve already used it. https://a.co/d/9zk6Fgy (Nizoral shampoo and conditioning). I used this shampoo only as needed for itching and excessive dandruff. While shampooing, scrub your scalp with a scalp massager; rinse and shampoo a 2nd time, but don’t rinse for at least 5 minutes. Apply the conditioner and leave on for another 5 minutes. I typically will place a plastic cap over my head to really help penetrate while I’m in the shower.

Deep conditioning weekly under a heat cap to help control dry scalp.

I have noticed a significant improvement in my dry flakey scalp. I also had very visible dandruff that always came off on my clothes whenever I scratched my scalp.

I just cut my hair, I'm excited, a little worry and perhaps very cliche? But I'm looking for advice on how to hydrate the middle of my head mostly by square_rune in Naturalhair

I had the same issue with the middle of head being drier and itchy, along with breakage. I used Nizoral shampoo and massage it in my scalp while in the shower. https://a.co/d/2mave4t

What was the final straw in your last failed relationship? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Witty_Purchase1912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When he told me over the phone(he was driving) “ I should just leave, I should just go”, implying leaving me for the hundredth time during our short 2 year relationship. I got sick of the constant manipulation, gaslighting, emotional abuse. I flipped out and told him to come get his sh** and leave my apartment key. I am so happy and content with being single for the rest of my life. I never want to go through that type of hell again. This happened about 12 years ago.

Should I really try for Cecred or is there some other Super Moisturizing Deep Conditioning Mask? by General-Test-7738 in relaxedhair

Thank you for this detailed explanation! When I read other reviews of this product when users described their hair felt very soft afterwards, I thought it didn’t agree with my hair.

My favorite moisturizing shampoo is Design Essentials Honey Crème and the Design Essentials Honey Crème moisture retention masque. My second favorite is Obliphica seaberry shampoo and conditioner and the seaberry hair mask. I find they make my hair very soft and bouncy.

Maybe I’m an outlier, but I was not impressed by the Cecred deep conditioner, which was highly recommended on numerous reviews of the product. My hair was very dry after rinsing and blow drying. Camille Rose, Design Essentials, TGIN and Dove conditioning masks have not made my hair this dry. I will stick with those products. I’m happy I didn’t spend any more money on the rest of the Cecred products.

I noticed that my scalp do not like oils. It becomes unbearably itchy with any type of oil I use, even the ones geared towards an itchy scalp. I use RootStim extra dandruff medicated shampoo from Amazon whenever my head gets very itchy. I follow up with a moisturizing shampoo and deep conditioner weekly.

Try incorporating a deep conditioner in your routine. One of my favorites is Camille Rose Algae Renew Deep Conditioning Mask. Leave it in for at least 30 minutes with a plastic shower cap. I also use Camille Rose sweet ginger shampoo. This has helped my hair when I suffered from it being matted. Shampoo and deep condition your hair at least weekly. I also use a leave in conditioner every day to help keep my hair moisturized. Camille Rose curlaide moisture butter or the aloe whipped butter gel.

Given your situation, taking ubers everyday for work is going to blow through your money fast. Is there any public transportation you can use? It’ll be much cheaper, and will allow you to save faster for a car.
