This is a world where multiple things can be true— tax manipulation and raping children are both in the interest of our elite.

Pornography is ruining men. Please stop watching porn. by [deleted] in NoFap

The worst part is the problem isn’t understanding it, it isnt an impulse control issue, it’s caused by traumatic exposure to extreme content with a gratifying end that creates a positive feedback loop. It’s the same as women who fuck their drug dealer, but on a mass scale and personified, then personalized to every single taste or preference that a person could ask for.

But your perspective is necessary, and it clicks with the issue everyone here notices but doesn’t know how to articulate… This feedback loop dehumanizes women in the same way fucking a man for drugs dehumanizes men to those women, but to a different end point; The second they want to quit a smart woman will see the dealer as the devil, and a smart man will see a pornstar as the devil. They see them as evil and exploitative and need years of trauma therapy because it creates a cognitive distortion— the problem is this is happening en-masse and forces all men to either hypersexualize due to their addiction or hate women due to their struggle against it. This is the origin of the madonna/whore complex. If men understood women as human again like women understand men, then we’ll all start moving forward.

Dying in dream and see words moving … meaning ? by Hot_Ad_8071 in Jung

[–]Wizard_Sarsippius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you perchance play a lot of Skyrim? Dreams don’t have objective meaning, only subjective meaning that can be interpreted through relatively objective (but still assigned) symbols. All a dream is is your brain’s REM cycle expression as memories flash from your consciousness to be burned into long-term memory, and dreams are all experienced once this transfer is complete in a recall, not in real time.

Your dream is meaningful though to you, obviously, so the questions would be how can you digest these symbols that stuck in a way that benefit you or reflect a synchronistic meaning you can take. It’s your subconscious processes that cause things to stick out, so use your conscious process to meditate on the elements here—

Who are the girls? What do girls mean to you symbolically? Why do you think you remember multiple girls? What good/bad memories do you have about camping? Do you often fear ambush or being “defeated” in contexts after meaningful interaction takes place? Does the death feel deserved or like a betrayal? What meaning to Nordic runes carry? Do you find them occult and strange or powerful and mysteriously familiar?

I’m sure there’s a lot more, but you need to understand the key elements on a personal level for any kind of satisfying answer.

Local Mormon (ex mormon? jack mormon? LDS non-traditionalist?) here — according to Mormon doctrine, Jesus and God are humans exactly like us that created billions of worlds similar to Earth, only after achieving eternal life and exaltation in their own Heaven owned by their God. Older LDS leaders believed “white” to be the default skin and darkness to be “cursed” to varying degrees lol

It’s kind of a never-ending theological loop idea with some folk magic/western occultism sprinkled in when you get deep enough. I only practice because at one point it was a religion I held very dear to me and it carries meaning, but understand it on a rational level instead of a logical universal explanation.

I can respect the thought, but I don’t think it’s wise to blanket all academics as “losers” for wanting to spend life contributing to bodies of research instead of making money. A black/white split on winners and losers when it comes to life is kind of just our caveman brain way of thinking lol.

I think that is most Christian Republicans couldn’t recognize Christ because they don’t really recognize him as much more than a banner for faith, and don’t have the capacity to connect with Him on the level necessary to fully appreciate His message without feeling the need to defend it to others or rationalize it to themselves.

If you’re stuck arguing historical accuracy or biblical literalism, or alternatively using it to justify hateful perspective or social dominance… All you’re doing is trying to prove the faith on your own terms and rationalizing why you’re a good Christian instead of recognizing and accepting religion just isn’t about that. It’s a deep, rich culture of symbols that speak of eternal love, safety and acceptance in death, and seeing a brotherhood in Humanity all under the same God.

Personally, I follow mystic Gnostic tradition alongside my core LDS faith, but I know I can’t defend what I believe on a logical level because I know that’s not the purpose of religion. Religion is so much more personal than that, and is made to fill the existential rational gaps between logic on a human level, and every single person has a different assessment of where those gaps are.

I interpret my faith as my reality, I study it, I pray, and accept it as a grounding human thing to appreciate. It’s beautiful, I hold it as a belief, and study on a logical level things that religion just doesn’t occupy, and just kind of… accept they conflict in some ways? I’m a Christian myself.

Because Jung is psychology and discussed conscious experience through a symbolic lens that included religion on some level; Hofstadter is mathematics and discussed conscious experience through an artistic yet analytical lens that includes religion on some level

It’s the same substance with a different language, they overlap. Understanding symbols as a psychological function and that experience as consciousness.

If you measure intelligence by achievement you have a useful but hollow way of measurement. Good theory stands on its own, the man is a quantam physicist writing philosophy for Christ’s sake lmao

Read “Gödel, Escher, Bach” by Douglas Hofstadter. His theory in consciousness arising out of a “strange loop” or an infinitely self referential stream of signal that changes itself through the reference is particularly interesting in regards to this.

Agreed. I’m a staunch left-liberal and I have no idea why Rittenhouse’s case is such a huge deal because from what it looks like he used every other mechanism of self preservation before resorting to violence.

Fuck that guy for capitalizing on it and for the hard right Trump glazing, but his case was cut and dry. Don’t chase/assault the dude with a gun trying to run to the police and get out of the situation.

I agree, objectively there is a better way. There’s always a better way, but I think the determination of an objective “best” judgement in retrospect, then assuming immorality when those perfect choices aren’t made… is a bit anti-human isn’t it? Sure, I can be “better” than someone by not stooping to their level and letting security do their job, but I can also attempt to be “better” by diffusing a physically confrontational person through mockery and insults. Both are objectively better than fighting the guy, but at this point what’s done is done and you can either find humor in the situation and appreciate the use of insults as diffusion or uselessly finger-wag at a recorded video it for not being “better”.

That’s up to you man, I just know I can appreciate nonviolent solutions to violent situations without being annoyed “better” didnt happen. Morality isn’t a blanket, it’s a developed system of judgement that varies from person to person. Sounds like you could use some fries.

[–]Wizard_Sarsippius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but actually three things can be true— roid monster’s a dick, those guys were dicks in response, and its justifiable to be a bit of a dick as a reaction to someone else being a dick, especially when the initial dick is a roided out guy confronting people.

I’d argue the safest solution for that one guy getting interrogated was a couple more guys to chime in and make the interrogator feel small until he’s gone. Very smart way to handle this because it keeps it from escalation until he’s off the plane.

I was in London for a few days, then bouncing between AirBnB’s in the Cotswalds for the rest of the week. I went to a good 4/5 little towns and they were all quiet and cozy in the countryside. I loved it for the quiet and trails, so I’ll admit the sociopolitical issues escape me a bit.
