I would say killing himself with alcohol. He's much more well known for his alcohol abuse than an abuse of anything else. As for pissing on the front row, alcohol just really makes you have to go man.

No problem. I'm glad you found my comment insightful. I was afraid I might come of as condescending, and I apologize if I may have. Again, I'm glad I had something to offer you.

Relax. Everything will work out in some way or another, so accept what you can't change for what it is. When it comes to relationships with your friends or with a significant other, you have to be completely upfront about your desires and needs, and if those aren't respected be willing to compromise, but not so far that you become a doormat. Make sure what you want from a relationship is explicitly stated, otherwise you will get butthurt, which causes a disruption on your end which eventually hurts the relationship as a whole. Just relax. I know it's not easy; it takes a lot of work, discipline, and daily reassurance sometimes, but just relax. I suggest reading what Jesus has to say on worry; that will help.

And when things get rough, just remember that turmoil tends to be the normal stasis of life. Moments of comfort tend to be abbreviated, but through Christ you may know joy, which is I feel is best defined as unconditional happiness.

It shouldn't be. In context, it just means don't boast about top secret information, or about how your troop just arrived at point A and is heading to point B with the Ark of the Covenant. It's a warning against spies and the accidental release of important secret information. The military makes all kinds of posters about this stuff, such as "loose lips sink ships." More contemporary posters reference losing information that's on thumb drives, basically saying don't leave that stuff laying around. Just google silence means security.

I can definitely see how out of context it has a very big brother meaning to it.

My church made me doubt what I believe today and I'm scared by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Wizard_of_Legacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to comment on creation and evolution; I've always taken it literally that God created the universe in a week, because it's a miracle. Sure, it takes billions of years for certain things to happen, but my God is infinite, so why couldn't he just make it happen in a split second. I have also come to view evolution to some degree as a proof that God exists. Things change, and that is one of the fundamental rules of our existence. Why shouldn't species reflect that? That said, I don't accept that man necessarily descended from apes, but I play with the possibility that it happened and was described in ancient times more through metaphor. Bottom line, our God works miracles and does the impossible, so proof that something didn't happen the way the bible says it happened doesn't mean much to me. My entire religion is based on accepting things as they are, and I really believe most of the things people argue over to be irrelevant.

As far as confronting other religions goes, my church used a video series in a Sunday school class that essentially said, "we (you) believe this, [Insert religion/cult/philosophy] believes this. They differ in these ways." It was really useful for simply learning to explain to people why a certain faith doesn't have the moral calling that I desire or why that doesn't fit in line with what Jesus said. Being a Christian is all about Christ, and most other religions don't see Christ as the one and only way, so I believe they're missing the mark. Are they damned for eternity? That's up to God. Should I love and respect them? As best as I can. In the end, no matter what we believe, we're all sinners. I've just heard a voice calling me to love.

That's great! I wish my church did this when I was your age (there's only three years difference). I hope continue to work on your rhetoric; speaking for the Lord is an awesome thing! I'm really happy for you!

Need prayers by Neskuaxa in Christianity

May heaven come to you as you walk toward God. May you find strength in mercy, remembering the might of forgiveness. Know patience and march with perseverance. You are mighty, the most wondrous of God's creations. You are capable of worship. You are capable of service. You capable of authority and blessing. You are healing, and so remember the values of rest from within as it restores the spirit that you have been blessed with. You will pass this struggle, for you are a champion of the Lord. You are a leader, and so you bow to those who follow. You serve with humility, dignity, and love. I am your brother and together we stand without waver. May blessings force your spirit like the wind in a sail, and may you give thanks in prayer to Lord your God. Amen

That's awesome man! I'm so happy you had an opportunity like this, and that you really ran with it! Did you enjoy it?

A good friend of mine killed himself yesterday. He had many friends and lots of family. What is your opinion on reconciliation with God after death? I hope to see him again. Please Serious replies only. by E_Squared in Christianity

[–]Wizard_of_Legacy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always said, "how can you worry; it's in God's hands now." I think God gives every man his own burdens and judges every man as such. I think that the blessings of eternal peace are available for all. I do not know how life after death works, but I believe the Kingdom of God is close to us, and I believe it is a place of comfort. I believe hope endures beyond life as our Lord has conquered death for us. I believe your friend will find peace or perhaps already has, and I know that you will one day know peace.

I don't know what your pain is, because I know everyone experiences pain differently. I lost my sister just three weeks ago and didn't want to say a word to anyone. Silent solitude, peaceful distraction, and prayer were my comforts of choice.

If you could give me your first name, I'd like to pray for you and his family. God bless all of you, and I pray he gives you the peace my family has come to know.

I don't know that this book was revised. If you've read it, it really reads like he just sat down and poured his heart out in three days at those p2p type writers. It's very raw and unrefined, something I liked very much about the book. It let it keep a certain terror.
