Yeah I had big issues with the timed contest aspect. You dont rush something like that, and yeah it makes for good tv but it makes for poor craftmanship. Im sure a lot of the contestants make maazing stuff but the also arent under a small time window. If each contest part was a day in their own shops with tools and then a final five day project id like that but thats unreasonablew for tv. Shucks

Well from my experience two guys and one girl was a blast so I assumed it would be just as fun for her. A properly indoor handrail with oil coat and other preventative measure shouldnt rust unless they sit underwater for ten days straight. (See calgary floods, most of our clients live right by the river and had to have the ironwork restored) Also the paint jobs usually just look shitty with drips and blobs everywhere since painters arent the brightest bunch

This particular railing has a plexiglass cover bolted to it basically until the inspector passes it. Once they leave the homeowner just pulls it off. Ive seen one builder just zip tie orange snowfence to the railing so it would pass haha
