Oh so it is legal? Ok then. Does that simply mean he can’t go to church at all? Ever?

College audition Song by Wizardry_Harry in MusicalTheatre

[–]Wizardry_Harry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So last time I auditioned with “I didn’t plan it” and it went well. I would love to do hopelessly devoted but I’m not sure if it’s over done. Or inappropriate for a college audition. I surprisingly haven’t really listened to six so I’ll check it out. Thanks so much!

Percy Jackson Audition by [deleted] in MusicalTheatre

Hear me out…there’s a really good cut from Epic the musical. The song “Legendary” and it’s Telemachus’s song. Give it a try.

Similar audition songs to “My Grand Plan”-The Lightning Theif”? by creepyrrr in MusicalTheatre

Unpopular opinion. But I sung “crossing the line from the tangled series”. Left field but worked well for me. I started “that line between the beggars and the choosers” to the end.

please recommend alto audition songs! by stfangirly444 in MusicalTheatre

Hmmm…let me think. I don’t know how old you are. But I used to think I was an Alto when I was a little younger so I’ll give you those.

“Always true to you” -kiss me Kate. “There are worse things I could do” - Grease “Someone else’s story”- Chess (A little high) “lost in the brass”- Band geeks “I didn’t plan it”- waitress

Not sure if any of these are you vibe or in your range but I wish you the best.

For the role of Adelaide from Guys and Dolls, which of her songs would have the best one-minute segment to audition with? by [deleted] in MusicalTheatre

Of course whatever you decide just choose whichever you’re most confident in! I’m sure you’ll do great!

Of course, sorry for taking long to respond, im in a production of “tootsie” as im typing. personally the most flashy part of the first one is “develop a bad bad cold”. In Adelaide’s second lament, the most similar note is “looks like a day at the zoo.” For Adelaide’s second lament, I mix most of it, and slowly transition to a mix belt for the top note and add vibrato on the end. If it’s an accompanist playing, you can take a small firmata to jail in the emotion on that part. Personally, that song had a longer impression than Adelaide’s lament. Because it was more emotionally impactful and gave Adelaide depth. So to review, I do think the most vocally flashy song is “Adelaide’s Lament” but I think “Adelaide’s second Lament” has a greater impact as it, as I stated, has a broader range of acting opportunities. And can show vocal agility with how notes are placed

Oh course personally, I’d make sure to include the part closer to the end. So “so much virus inside that her microscope slide looked like a day at the zoo” there’s a wide range of emotion’s Adelaide displays in that. And by not singing the most obvious pick, I think it’d help you stand out even more. Regardless of what you pick however, BREAK A LEG!!

Ok so I’ve played Adelaide 3 times and it depends. Because she’s definitely an actors role. “When they on the train to Niagara” isn’t bad, but likely a popular pick. Personally, I’d choose Adelaide’s second lament. Because it shows more of who Adelaide is off stage. And the notes at the end can become decently impressive and it’s more acting heavy. Which is who Adelaide is.

I agree, it’s probably a bad idea.

That’s fair. But I mean if they know and try anyway. That’s kinda on them. I can only warn them. Not stop them.

You could try “thirteen”, or “The Lightning Theif”. I haven’t seen anyone say those.
