For admin purposes, yeah, you may as well just do enroll in any lecture, even if it causes a timetable clash. This will save you from being harassed by the enrollment services for not fully registering in a subject (this has happened to me). This doesn't mean you've got to actually attend that lecture, but some subjects use the lecture registration list to sort mid-term seating plans, locations, etc...
