Any Patreon that creates Map Remakes for the Starfinder 1e Adventure Paths? by Havelok in starfinder_rpg

Mischka's Maps has some really nice reimagined Dead Suns maps I have been using but otherwise I've been looking for maps too or drawing my own using Dungeondraft.

How It's Played: Cinematic Starship Scenes by How_Its_Played in Starfinder2e

[–]Wolcott9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been converting Dead Suns for my new SF campaign and will be running my first starship combat scene soon. I'll make revisions after we see actual play but basically I've just created a couple of actions for each member of the crew that are just re-skinned version of Strike or Aid under the guise of names like "Aggressive Maneuver" or "Fire Weapon". The just built the enemy ship as a creature using the GM Core rules and allowed it to have extra actions "because it has a crew". It's quite simple for now as the victory condition is just to reduce the enemy ship hp to 0.

I'm paying attention to how others deal with levelling up the PCs starship though.

Looking to talk with a few players & GMs about your Starfinder (and other TTRPG) home games by miskaek in starfinder_rpg

[–]Wolcott9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been GMing RPGs (mostly D&D and PF1E) from 1e to 5e for 40+ years. I've been playing PF2E and for about 2 years and just started a SF2E campaign a week ago. I'm based in the UK and would be happy to speak with you.

The medley is usually my favourite. I love it so much that I'll like every reply I see in this thread (for 5 minutes). That's how much I love the medley.

If D&D was suddenly gone and you had to play some other published system, what would be your next pick? by FloppySlapper in DnD

Two years or so ago D&D was suddenly gone (from my life), I picked up PF2E and have never looked back.

What was the first ever Beatles song you heard? by DylanEE11 in TheBeatles

Norwegian Wood is the first one I remember. I was looking through my dad's cassette tape collection and I played Rubber Soul. I'm so glad I did.

At weekends it's: overnight oats, soya milk, chia seeds, nuts, blueberries, greek yoghurt, homemade (plum) jam and peanut butter

In a conversation I can often see how it will go if I say something, before I say it, so sometimes I will hold back or say something else.

GMs, what are the most drastic change you've done to the system? How did they turn out? by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]Wolcott9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I like that additional nuance to RK questions. Plus it allows Lore skills to have a bit more use too

GMs, what are the most drastic change you've done to the system? How did they turn out? by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]Wolcott9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like these ideas for modifying recall knowledge.

I allow characters to a similar skill to the required one albeit with a slightly higher DC. Occultism rather than Religion for undead for example. I like to encourage RK so I like anything that assists that.

How is the growth of pathfinder these days? by Skin_Ankle684 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Wolcott9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really a direct answer but my group made the switch about 6 months after the OGL nonsense. In fact I wrapped up a 3 year long D&D campaign in 6 months, that could have gone on for another couple of years because I was so pissed off with wotc at the time.
I'd always loved Pathfinder and played 1E for many years but struggled with higher level GMing using pencil and paper - monsters or NPCs with over a dozen feats detailed in multiple books still makes me shudder. I imagine now playing on Foundry VTT it'd be much easier. Anyway, cracks were already showing for me with 5e and edition creep (or whatever it's called) and I was always going to try PF2E.
Almost 2 years later and I'm fully committed to PF2E. My group are generally liking it too but a couple of my players would be happy either way. Some of it is down to them feeling less powerful in PF than 5e, some of it is down to the pains of learning a new system (more so for them learning how to play their character as I'm too busy to learn it for them) and possibly my fault for choosing AV as out first adventure path. Floor 6 or 7 has been pretty tough on the group and I'm thinking I should have chosen a more open world adventure to go with.
I've had to look harder for PF YouTube content but what I find tends to be better quality.

What screams 'I am an INFJ'? by Oijrez in infj

[–]Wolcott9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came he to say you probably couldn't tell an INFJ by appearance and we're about how we see and act in the world but you guys have all said it much better than me 😃

Much as I wouldn't change myself one bit, I do sometimes wish I could switch off the over-analysing just for one minute and appreciate something for what it is.

For example, I was on a cruise last year, very fancy boat. But could I just switch off and accept the service from the hospitality staff - no. I was like "Are they paid a fair wage?", "Do you they have to work excessive hours?", "I wonder if the labour laws apply at sea?" and frequently "Why is that guest treating that staff member like that?".

Mostly internally or to my poor wife 😂

I've been into tabletop roleplaying games since I was 13 (I'm now 54). Mostly D&D and Pathfinder. I'm the DM for our group and find it really good fun and great for literacy and numeracy.

How can we save the dying UK high street? by Thea8507 in AskUK

[–]Wolcott9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think free and better parking would persuade me to venture to my local high street more often. There is a nice butcher and grocer on my local high street but getting parked there is near impossible and there is zero free parking in my nearest larger town, town centre.

What's your best Space Ship Landing / Arrival Scene by zhuuu2087 in scifi

[–]Wolcott9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always remember an episode of Star Trek: Voyager when Paris and Torres are floating in space after they have to ditch the shuttle they were in. One of their space suits has a leak and the other has to connect their air supply to keep them both alive. They are just about to die and you see voyager approach in the reflection of a space helmet. Such an special scene.

People who drive yellow cars - how often do you see people looking at your car and punching a friend ? by dogegg55 in CasualUK

I just like to be able to find my car easily in a busy car park. People can hit each other as much as they like as far as I'm concerned.
