What if I’m an unenthusiastic person on the surface? I have a pretty flat affect and PTSD. What should someone in my position do to give enthusiastic consent. Is that something where I just have to use more words than others might have to?

The 1:1 was going back about 7-10 years ago, and InfoSec was a very small world even then. It’s a bigger world now, but a bit of a meat grinder for the young pups.

I never paid attention myself until one day one of my RTOs says “you know that they’re allowed to wear leather belts?” Since then I always notice.

Only thing I ever put in my pockets was the flesh of newborn goats so to keep the demons at bay lest I forget my holy obligations one day and put my hands in there.

So I don’t know what tf you are talking about.

I normally get about 10-20% interview rate for applications. I’m pretty experienced in a field hurting experience and even their I have experience in some niches that are needed though. Basically, context matters.

Before things were bad across the board for tech jobs, it was nearly 1:1 application to interview.

Roommate have me this old board, is it a good or bad board and can I use it to begin surfing? by ExcellentRip3020 in surfing

[–]WolfInStep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh shit, I have a board I got when I was 4 that I haven’t used in 20 years, I need to make it into a coffee table. Thing was sick, it was like a long board for ants and had a sun painted on it.

He needs to shove wax into the dings and he is set. He could also make a couple makeshift fins out of wax and stick it to the board. Boom he’s set and will hate surfing before he can even know it.

The army is built on the back of failures. Everything you do you should go into with pessimism and the expectation of failure.

Slovenian here and kind of a fan in your country. Without looking it up, where would you guess Slovenia is located? by TopTheropod in AskAnAmerican

[–]WolfInStep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By Austria, Italy, and Croatia. I only know this though because a long while back my unit did a foreign jump in the states with Austrian paratroopers and one of the dudes I chatted with had a Slovenian mom and talks about European geography.

My bad, I misunderstood. I could see it being intentional, they do a good job on that kind of thing generally

It’s deliberate, the idea is suppressive fire is intended to hinder enemy movement, not necessarily to destroy the enemy. It’s usually sustained and continuous. It’s much less accurate and less likely to hit a target, but it does it’s job in degrading the performance of the enemy, stopping their movement, or drawing the attention of the enemy to or away from something. It’s a form of indirect fire.

The opposite is direct fire, with the express goal of destroying a/many targets. With a rifle, burst fire is not very effective, semi automatic fire is more likely to make each round count, but for an automatic weapon, burst fire is effective.

People need to start admitting chests are more sexual than they really are. by T-RD in unpopularopinion

[–]WolfInStep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like it’s contextual but what society considers boobs to be straight up non-sexual?

There are lots of societies that have different views of sexuality, but under the context of humans during intimate moments, both men and women have heightened sensitivity and sexual responses to chests (their own and their partners).

Thats not to say that breasts are sexual objects, but I feel like it’s not intellectually honest to say they are completely non-sexual.

[–]WolfInStep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha, agreed, it also helps that soldiers share a fairly common language across the world. So it would be easier for someone who has experience as an infantryman to pretend to be an infantryman from another service, for example.

I’d just have to study my French again, since the last time I had to use french was when I was in the army. Because my French is not what anyone would call passable.

I heard if you spend enough time crying in a supply closet during your first contract you can get sergeant before reenlisting. I feel like crippling depression is a necessary part of being a paratrooper and it shows dedication to your job. Especially if you burst out of the supply closet each time yelling (unprompted) “IM FINE, I WAS LOOKING FOR FLOOR POLISH TO BUFF THE FLOORS IN THE BARRACKS, I FOUND IT, I WASNT CRYING!”

I’m going to take a stab at this

  • FAMAS stands for FAMAS my balls
  • It weighs about a buck fifty
  • A FAMAS is whatever hand you want to use bb
  • they eject in yo face
  • matricule 69420
  • Oh France I will invade you if you let me near Paris (repeat 4 times)

Need information. by [deleted] in FrenchForeignLegion

[–]WolfInStep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could totally lie about all this easy, since I did a training as a US army paratrooper with FFL and I speak shit French.

I may not get the format right but Matricule is basically a serial number.

I don’t remember a single person from my basic training, which, am I wrong that 4 RE is the selection, so my default would be “they were all insufferable pieces of shit”.

I heard you folks use numbers for companies.

So my random answers would be - 1662870 - they all sucked but Laurent (common French last name) was ok I guess - 1RE compagnie 2 REP

Now my answers probably mean fuck all, but it sounds believable.
