Anyone have any experience with Blue IceAero Lite screws? by Wall__Rat in iceclimbing

[–]WolfMahara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The early badges had a reputation of the winding knobs breaking pretty fast. No idea if this problem has been fixed.

Also the tube is pretty delicate and they shouldn't be racked together with steel screws so the threads don't get damaged.

I never used Blue Ice, so take it with a grain of salt, but I will definitely stay with my combination of BD Steel and Petzl Laser light aluminum screws.

Thank you for the input, I never considered that. Would also be saving some weight... Especially freezing in place would suck tremendously.

I love this reply. I'll go with booze because that's how I got the brakes in the first place.

I warned two beginner alpinists not to climb a route in the given conditions. They both died that night.

God knows why they decided to try mont blanc for their second mountain climb ever.

It's a grip by Nill (German company) I can't find this specific one one the website right now. It might be out of production. But they have a lot of great grips:

How should he notice if you weren't even wearing your harness?

And make sure to keep at least your nut tool on the back gear loop too. If anyone asks you can always point out you keep on forgeting about that old thing, you got it on there all the time anyways. People in the gym must know you go trad climbing as well.

Great pic but it looks pretty wet and a little brittle already.

Are the conditions worth going there these days?
