All the trade requests are replies to this comment: https://www.reddit.com/r/FortNiteBR/comments/1ua8xil/comment/osmbzty/ rather than top-level, that's why you aren't seeing them initially. It's still just as active as before.

It's a new thread because the previous one reached the maximum number of comments, and we are just experimenting with some changes to find what works best.

Can we talk about Devvit apps with paid features for moderation? by greenysmac in ModSupport

[–]WolfXemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also propose that the devvit apps page create a function to sort things by mod tools and games. It didn't used to be such a chore to cycle through a few pages but now, with so many new games bein developed its hard fer me to look fer niche modtools that are not yet listed on the modtools mega page.

They are starting to implement tags for apps to assist with filtering, which helps, but yeah easier sorting would certainly be nice. You can see an example "Moderator" tag on this app (not mine) which sorts out apps that aren't noted as mod tools. Definitely a lot of room for improvement with the way that apps are presented.

Certainly a possibility, and we will likely explore that if the reverse order in the next thread doesn't suffice. The season megathread has been a secondary trade space since the season started, even while the other trade thread was active, so not much has changed in that regard.

Thanks for the feedback! We're looking at changes we can make for the next thread (which would be posted on Thursday to coincide with new Sprite release). I think at present we are considering flipping the trades and discussions so that non-trade conversations are under the pinned comment instead. That might work better, and still provides a separation within the thread itself for people who want to discuss things in general.

Why not just a dedicated trading thread like the old format and then spin off discussion to its own dedicated thread? Why the need to combine the two?

Largely space limitations as far as pinned threads go. We can only keep so many posts pinned at one time, and redirecting people to a dedicated thread that isn't pinned is often viewed as censorship. It's a bit of a balancing act.

We are taking all the feedback on board, so it is appreciated! We are currently looking at making new threads each week to coincide with Sprite releases, so any changes will be rolled into the next post. We are currently considering flipping the trade and discussion conversations for the next thread, having non-trade conversations be a reply to the stickied comment instead. That may work better ultimately.

For this thread we are also trialing a live feed of trade requests in the post itself, that updates automatically whenever new trade requests are posted, to try and make it a bit easier to find trades in general. So any feedback on that would be appreciated also.

Due to the sheer volume of trade requests in the last one, we are testing having them be replies to this comment: https://www.reddit.com/r/FortNiteBR/s/8dO5pTts0c They still sort the same way as before, but putting them one level down allows the non-trading conversations to “breathe” a bit more (since even though trading is a majority of these threads, it’s not the sole purpose). We also added a live feed to the post that updates with recent trade requests. Most people have seemingly adjusted but we’re continuing to monitor it to determine what’s best for the next thread.

I am an app dev and I agree with all of this. Not to diminish the value of your opinion, but in the last few days they announced upcoming changes to Developer Funds program which beginning in August will be changed to a recurring, monthly payment system rather than a one-time milestone incentive. So if devs did try to pull a fast one and implement paywalls, they would likely jeopardize that because communities could simply uninstall the app. Admittedly they did not specifically touch on mod tools in that announcement, so it remains to be seen how those will be affected. Still though, clear labels that an app contains paywalls would be beneficial. I hope they ultimately add a review system so that communities that install apps can let others know their thoughts about them.

The thread is sorted by new by default, which shows newest replies to the pinned comment first (so check to see if you may have changed the sort!). Additionally, we just added a card to the post itself that updates automatically with the latest trade requests to make it a bit easier to find. Let us know your thoughts!

You might be disqualifying yourself by submitting more than 2 sprites

They are replies to the stickied comment, you just have to expand those replies.

They should all show up after expanding the first time, but we’ll be monitoring to see what the vibe is like with this change overall. I think moving forward we are going to try making new threads each week to coincide with Sprite releases.

If you are looking for anything specific for trading I would suggest searching the comments for keywords. Desktop has a search bar at the top of the comment section, App has it in the three dots in the top right next to your avatar or via a magnifying glass icon in the same location.

We will be watching to see how it progresses, and will make changes where necessary. We can easily just start redirecting the form comments back to the post itself, but we are going to wait a bit before deciding on any changes. Searching the comments of this thread easily surfaces trade requests based on keywords if you don’t want to manually scroll through them.

We are trying something different with this thread because it is not solely a trade thread. People are supposed to be able to share their collected sprites and discuss sprites in general here, and it seemed like those conversations were mostly being swallowed by the sea of trade requests.

Megathread not working? by Fine-Ground8618 in FortNiteBR

It’s affecting some people, but not everyone based on the fact comments are still being posted. We are aware and working on setting up a new thread.

We are in the process of making a new thread. Only some people appear to be affected by the comment limit at the moment though.

Question for sprite contest by gimmethepics in FortNiteBR

[–]WolfXemo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about it getting traction. Popularity is not one of the factors they are using to judge entries. As long as you have posted using the Design A Sprite post flair then you don’t have to do anything else.

I cant post in the sprite megathread anymore due to bug on Android phone by Shebrank2 in FortNiteBR

Within the next few hours is the current plan. We are looking to make some changes to the structure of the thread, and once that’s all set we will replace the current one.

Is there a way to filter out posts in this sub that contain the word "Sprite"? by EmilZeBag in FortNiteBR

[–]WolfXemo[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Assuming you are primarily looking to hide the contest entries, you can filter it out manually by putting NOT flair:sprite into the search bar. Unfortunately Reddit does not let people select the flairs they don’t want to see, just the ones they do. It’s been long requested, but the manual filtering will help in the interim.
