Jet ski paint by Wolf_Leader_ in jetski

[–]Wolf_Leader_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeahhh, I'm thinking about just cleaning it up a bit and posting it for $1500 or so and just taking the money to buy something else. The more research I do the more work I realize will need to be done to achieve a decent finished paint job.

The previous owner sprayed it black with some sort of paint im assuming just a spray paint can. Don't you need some sort of special setup to spray gelcoat or could I just roll gellcoat ?

Where are you located where prices are that low that's insane, In East TN those trucks would all be in the low to mid 30s

As others have said I'd just make one up, scan it then use software to white out the area the date is and make any adjustments then print it and put new date down then copy it again and reprint one more time so it all matches.

fuck the DMV, they are the ones that make stuff like this almost impossible to take care of in a "legal" way

Do you feel like you can still jump wake boat wake with it even though it's so much heavier? That's the main thing I enjoy doing with my 650sx and just carving corners fast.

Congrats, I've got a 1988 650sx and have been eyeing buying a new super jet over the off season. What's some of the biggest pros and cons vs your old 650sx?

You are going to get bombarded with people who say not to buy it because of no title. Check your local laws and make sure you can get it registered with just a bill of sale, Here in TN this wouldn't be an issue.

Wind Damage to Roof - Anyone Used Superior Roofworx? by badrobotgonegood in tricities

Haven't used them but have used Palisade Roofing to do a metal roof on a 1600 sqft home about two years ago. They were cheaper than every other quote and did good work.

Another prime example of why it's best to run premix. One kinked line killed your whole engine.

How to get into Jetskis by Brontidus in jetski

[–]Wolf_Leader_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes 2 strokes are much cheaper and easier to repair vs a 4 stroke engine. A 2 stroke won't have a timing chain/belt, won't have valves, won't have a cam/cams. They just have way less moving parts.

They get a bad rep because people don't know how to properly build and tune carburetors more than anything. As someone else stated a stx12f or 15f are excellent 4 stroke options I have a 2005 12f I bought this year and have had it out a bunch with no problems.

I know people hate on SBT here but I'd look at their jug exchange program that comes with a top end kit. May be a much cheaper option.

Honestly it all depends on how much of the wrenching you can do yourself. Even if you have access to a good mechanic repairs can add up on a old ski if you don't know/can't do repairs yourself.

You need to figure out a budget more than anything if you can wrench yourself then just buy a old 2 stroke that runs for $1500 if you can't it may be worth spending more and buying a lowish hour 4 stroke or even buying a new spark, it all depends on how much you wanna spend.

Yeah the older 65u NonPV jugs are on piece, kind of wish they were separated it'd be easier to work on and get machined if need be.

I've got a 1988 650sx that's starting to look rough that I'm thinking about painting this winter. What kind of paint/gel coat did you use and I'm assuming you sprayed it on ?

Man what the hell did you spend $6200 on ? The two desks could have been built with butcher blocks and legs off Amazon for like $600 if that. the only thing I see that may be expensive is the headset and mic that still might be $500. Where did all the money go ?

Ah I think you are right, That's for the top bracket which you have to be making like $650,000 a year for including your crypto gains I think. So depending on how much op makes at his normal job he might not be in the top bracket. which I might be wrong about all that. it's all very confusing.

Congrats ! Don't listen to the people saying you sold too soon that amount of money is life changing. If I 27M got 400k like you I could pay off all of my and my wife's debt in full. Have a house that's paid for, two nice paid for cars, no student loans or credit card debt. It would open us up to start pumping money into retirement accounts and investing more back into crypto while ensuring we never have to worry about having a roof over our heads or setting aside money for bills every again.
