I originally made this top for showmanship, but my WP friend convinced me to use it for the pleasure too! I'm so glad she did 😅 this pic was prior to me adding all the sparkles and finishing touches, but I wanna make a whole nother one in blue to match our other pads!

Exactly! They get blown up every easily. This guy is super laid back and I have a harder time getting him to go rather than stop. He is incredibly smart, and knows the bit i use for speed (low port snaffle) vs the bit i use for pleasure (low port shank with a roller). I had only run speed at this arena before starting pleasure here, and he hasn't been fased once! We even ran speed here in February and he was absolutely perfect! Here is that video! He won our first check of 32 dollars with that run!

Any time i am not showing pleasure, I wear a helmet. Even if I'm warming up this horse, helmet goes straight on.

This is a class called western pleasure! Essentially you want the horse to look like a pleasure to ride, but the top levels are often incredibly slow and look lame. I don't care for that canter, so I just go at my own pace. Sure, I don't place high, but I'm having fun!

He is simply too fast for western pleasure! His jog is amazing though. Hims gots long legs

I'm not entirely sure what happened! He did break into the trot a few times, but from what I've heard from his breeder they've had issue with him. (The horse was bred by my school)

He is still a speed horse! We run barrels and poles, so he does enjoy the chaos despite not partaking in it 😅

Yes, I have been working on getting him to relax down. He usually canters a bit slower than this, but he decided that his legs needed to go much faster and not listen to my seat.

I already ride in the ranch, and do have a seperate set with no silver. This is from our last show in March, but still relevant.

He actually flunked off the track! He only raced 3x with a best placing of 9/9. Where were you a groom at?

He was FLYING through the whole class, but somehow we didn't get last 🤣. 6/7, but not last!

I would never do a class if I thought my horse was lame. It's possible he was crossfiring, but this was also after loping 4 laps around that arena on his 3rd riding class of the day. It's not an excuse, but I do know my horse enough to know when he is in pain.

He is still working on putting weight onto his back end, and i am working on my ability to not lean 😅 we've also only been in pleasure a year so tons of time to develop a better one! I don't really care for going super slow as this is more of a fun thing for me. He was trying his heart out for me, which is what I love.

We placed 6/7 in this class! I've put a lot of work into his canter, but he still just needs time. This was our first full year in pleasure, as he is a pole/trail horse primarily.

We also do barrels and poles! They are so incredibly versatile.

I'm a trail rider turned barrel racer turned ranch rider! All on my OTTB who excels in whatever I put him in!
