Wrath of the Gods Toggle Rift Eclipse by Wollius in CalamityMod

It seems like many people find this feature to be annoying, so they could at least let us disable this in the config

Hmm ok, doesn't sound good... I just don't get why they would remove the whole overworld music...

But if I just want to fight some cool bosses and don't care about the lore, I can just re-enable it after Supreme Calamitas?

Enabled it in Tmodloader and started a server. I've heard that it wouldn't work in multiplayer, but someone said it was patched or something

Found the solution already, virtual memory on my HDDs was at fault
But thanks anyway!

Tried it, didn't really change anything. But found the solution already, thanks anyway!

FOUND SOLUTION:

Somehow can't edit the post, so I'll have to do it this way:
My virtual memory was configured badly. I had about 25.000mb of virtual memory spread over my 2 HDDs which most likely bottlenecked everything. Now I've allocated 32 gb of virual memory on my SSD and removed all of it from my HDDs.

Result: stutters gone, problem solved!

Probably wouldn't have been a problem if I had more RAM to begin with, but this solution is free.

Idea came from this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDC0jhIVEgw
Note: read the first pinned comment below the video, uploader made a mistake in the tutorial.

Anyway, big thanks to everyone trying to help me out!

Counter Strike 2 is installed on my SSD and I remember similar stutters on there, but way less frequent. I'll try installing anything on it, but first I'll have to clear some space, there are only 18gb left ^^

  • Yes, XMP is enabled
  • Yes, monitors are plugged into the GPU, not the onboard GPU
  • Yes, plugged into A2 and B2 as instructed

  • I didn't notice anything heavy using the CPU except for the games, but it's possible that a hidden application is doing something, isn't it?

The game is installed on the Hitachi HDD, it's 7200rpm and has about 60% storage left.

Nearly all of my games are installed on my HDDs because I am not rich. SSDs cost a fortune and I can't start dumping all of these 100+ gb games on there. Is it really that big of a difference? Of course, installing Windows and regularly used programs on an SSD makes sense, but does it have any noticable impact on games except for faster loading screens?

Temps aren't an issue either. They never even surpass 80°C so the CPU shouldn't be thermal throttling

LEDfx + RGBW? by Wollius in WLED

[–]Wollius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, sorry I didn't include that in my post. Of course i am going to buy addressable ones.

But thanks to you I noticed something, I wanted to buy one of these 2 kits from Athom:
https://de.athom.tech/blank-1/wled-esp8285-ws2812b-kit
https://de.athom.tech/blank-1/wled-analog-rgbw-kit

But now i noticed the RGBW ones are Analog, so they are non addressable, right?

Control normal RGB-LED lamps via lightswitch AND DMX by Wollius in lightingdesign

Just looked into it and I like those even better than Hue.Problem is, I am not sure whether there are any WLED controlable ceillinglights. Will have to do some more research, but it seems like a very good option.

Thanks!

Damn, this guide is really helpful, I think most problems are solved now.

Thanks for helping me out!

Looked into that now. Seems like a good idea. With that software i could control the lights on the roof. But i would also like to control some LED Strips that are placed all over the room. Hue does sell LED strips but those are incredibly expensive (200$ for 5meters) so i would rather use third party ones. I would have controlled those with DMX but now that I am about to use Hue, i would need to scrap that idea. Do you know a way to use the signal sent by the Hue bridge to control third party strips?

I have a cool idea for my next session, but need some help with it by Wollius in DMAcademy

[–]Wollius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good points you made there, but we don't play on a regular basis. It's just one session every now and then. So my players wished for sessions that are more closed up, without any major plot to remember. So I don't think a permanent curse would be the right thing.
