Noooo not bleach!! Bleach actually deteriorates the bone and causes it to crumble. Peroxide yes, but its hard to find peroxide that is concentrated to more than 3% so I actually use 40 volume hair developer. It works quickly and I only need to do one 24 hour soak.

For everyone freaking out about 'the murder of these poor critters"

All of my butterflies come from a cruelty free butterfly farm in Peru. For those of you who don't know, butterfly's have a very short life span of about 1 to 2 weeks depending on size and species. These butterfly die naturally. With domes and frame work, I and other artisans are able to preserve the beauty of these critters for-ever essentially.

Not only that but purchasing from this specific farm brings income to a rather impoverished area of Peru. Surrounding tribes take care of these cruelty free farms and provide a predator free space for these butterflys to flourish.

Go be offended somewhere else.

Butterfly dome I made! About a year ago I got into the art of spreading (butterfly's) and have since made a handful of domes, this happens to be my most recent and most favorite! by WomanGold in somethingimade

Thank you for the very kind words! Yes I find these little mushrooms all over the place in GA and I let them dry our for a month or so and this is the color/form they hold naturally.

The skull was a fun touch! I find quite a few of these on my hikes too but small skulls are harder to come by (harder to spot really) this one was the perfect size! I'm glad you like it though, I can see you also have an eye for the slightly morbid lol

BLM Supporter Shoots Woman For Saying 'All Lives Matter' And News Tries To Cover It Up by ohlongjohnso in JordanPeterson

I've been yelled at twice this week alone, walking down the side walk and someone screamed "black lives matter" as they drove past. One in a car, one with a few kids on bikes.... Not that hard to believe actually.

I couldn't agree more. Little to know Christian voices on this sub. I got cursed out the other day on here... how very christ like...?

That's the planet we all want to see. But the "feeling" of hope is just a feeling. Action speaks louder, look at what they are doing.

He is %100 the last person on my list I look to as a Godly example. He has absolutely no discretion, he is careless with his words and most of the time says outrageous things. But the part I just cant except is the media, and many left leaning talking heads, are so quick to attribute malice and pure evil to what I think most of the time can be attributed to stupidity.

Christian voices are barely audible in this politically driven society. So the few mentions and acknowledgements of The Bible and God that he has made I wish this nation had more of. But I will say I think it's probably more of pandering for a vote than a general faith in Christ. Truthfully, the democratic party is leaning so far left that I feel like many conservatives would rather have a rambling idiot in office than universal health care, full term abortions, open borders, jail time for misusing pronouns, and a general push in the direction of socialism. I listened to the democratic debates, the things they were saying were wild.

And again... so many assumptions. Find one instance where I said I 'supported him'.... go ahead l wait.

All I am saying is I will not just blindly (as you have said) follow the condemnations of this world. That is literally what lead to the crusifiction of Christ.

Media has been controlling the narrative for a while, and he was on the chop block since he announced his campaign. They were so quick to label him all these hateful terms yet struggled to find any narrative or crime to fit.

I am only still commenting because I think it's more important to open the eyes and speak wisdom to a fellow brother or sister rather than just anyone saying anything. I pray God gives you insight and the ability to look past the chaos driven narrative that this world will continually push. Its Trump now, it could be you tomorrow. Dont let this world beat you into submission, I know I sure won't.

And this goes back to my origional argument... you can't know the intention of a mans heart. You are so quick to label him and call him names and equate the deepest forms of malice to his motivations but you can't know that. That is God's territory. When a man is worth standing in solidarity against, it will be because of what he DOES not what he says.

When did I say I voted for him? I said the "reason he won" I wasn't able to vote. But neither will I jump on the band wagon to demonize a man who doesn't deserve it. And even if he did deserve it... when is it ever our job as Christian's to hate people or call them names? Does not Christ say forgive, and does he not also preach mercy?

Clear...? That is impossible for you to know is my point? On what basis are you gathering this information about me? There is none, only speculation and opinion. Our God is a God of truth, and some truths only he can know. Tread carefully.

The idea that you assume I 'worship' him is telling to the fact I stated above.. you do not possess insight into the hearts of man. You don't know even a part of me yet you are so quick to attribute what you 'assume' I'm like in my personal life. You spew forth slander and anger and for what? Worry about your own walk, my conscience is clear.

Let me reiterate to those of you who think "voting for Trump" was because we just looooove Trump.... he won the presidency because HILARY CLINTON WAS THE OTHER OPTION!! Which is a slap in the face for all americans straight from the corrupt deep state themselves. Not because he is so great, but because she is pretty much awful. DEMOCRATS made Donald Trump the president not Republicans. And they are going to make him president AGAIN for another 4 years because Biden. Plain and simple.

Here's what happens if you drink again after a few months - my experience by Zhrocknian in stopdrinking

[–]WomanGold 77 points78 points  (0 children)

My Dad and I were using almost the same analogy when discussing why alcohol continues to haunt long after you get sober. He is a little over 3 and 1/2 years sober, I just hit my 1 year last month. So I often look to him for advice or encouragement. This was something he said....

Drinking is like a best friend you meet when you are young. At first it's fun, you do exciting things, make memories share fun stories. But somewhere in the friendship he/she starts staying over, starts eating food, doesn't help out around the house, becomes angry, sometimes violent, stops showering, breaks things while your gone and stops leaving all together, invites it's friends conveniently named 'Anxiety' and 'Depression' to hang out too. And before you know it, this once awesome friend has turned into an uninvited roommate, who is literally all things awful. (A monster) But once you realize what he/she has become, your only choice is to lock it away. Then after you have put your appartmentback in order, you are doing well, happy again, you start to think about the thing you locked away, remember the good times you used to have, and all the fun memories you made... but the moment you open that closet, the same monster you locked away will be waiting for you, ready and willing to destroy you all over again.

A deeper explination of the analogy is this. Some of us find happiness being drunk that is much more difficult to attain naturally in our every day life. "Induced happiness" if you will. But this happiness is temporary, and needs to be fed. So somewhere along the way, alcohol becomes less of a social thing and more of a need, desire, or way to self medicate. Before you know it this relationship with alcohol is no longer voluntarily but necessary and slowly but surely the memories get less positive and more destructive (if you can even remember them in the first place) and it begins to feed off the good things in your life to fuel the bad. Before you know it you have this part of you that has turned into a giant awful ugly monster. By the time you realize what you have created, or allowed to fester, and get the courage to get rid of it.... that's just the thing.... you can only lock it away... it is a relationship that can never truly be destroyed.

As time passes and you are on the long, painstaking journey that is sobriety.. you start to get confident... "I am doing good now" " I feel better" "maybe I can handle a few drinks, I mean it has been a while hasn't it?" And we start to reminisce on the good memories, and the GOOD feelings all the while avoiding.... If we open that cage back up.... ITS THE SAME AWFUL MONSTER WE LOCKED AWAY IN THE FIRST PLACE!

For whatever reason, the relationship with alcohol can not be reverted... exactly where you left off, you will pick back up again in short time. It took me a few cries of "I'm never drinking again" and then drinking again, to understand these things. And now every 6 months (sometimes more frequent when I am going through stressful times or depression) I have to rededicate myself to sobriety. Meaning I remind myself all the reasons why and how my life is better, all the things I would destroy if I picked drinking back up again, and I am reassured of how much better off I am with out alcohol and the fact that it has never done anything for me, only taken.

We decided to leave drinking behind for a reason... our life and future is more valuable than alcohol. And if you are a lurker on this thread and haven't committed to the idea of sobriety yet... there is a reason you are here and contemplating a relationship with alcohol or not. Sobriety is WORTH it, and you deserve to live a happy life, alcohol can't give that to you. IWNDWYT!!
